Its not blindingly white but it isn't yellow. I rinsed it inside of my aquarium since I got both the same day and its 2 and a half-ish gallons. So it wasn't a big deal to sit it in the bath tub for a good rinse. It settled right to the bottom with no issues. It barely even created any clouds before I was done with the first rinse. It looks really great and I would buy it again if I ever got another tank.
