The object of Acquire is to amass wealth in the form of hotel chains and valuable stock. Two to six players draw hotel tiles that correspond to specific locations on the game board. By playing these tiles strategically, players create chains and purchase stock. The action becomes feverish as players buy, trade, and sell shares and compete to create adjacent chains and corporate mergers. By the end of the game (about 75 minutes), one of two things must happen: either all chains on the board are safe from potential mergers, or one chain contains 41 or more hotels. Then bonuses are paid, all stock is sold, and the player with the most money wins.
