Of course I did know this before hand, my girls and I have been putting Star Wars models together. Since they are 11 & 9 we've been doing mostly all snap-models, which this one is advertised as. No glue, no paint, etc. Well, you do need paint. The holding base, pilot, droid and cockpit are 100% yellow like the ship. The only color difference is the metallic silver for the front of the fighter.I highly recommend getting paint, maybe the military paint kit plus yellow to match the fighter, before putting it together. If you put it together out of the box... the Naboo Fighter would look horrible and nothing like the movie. You have paint the holding base, droid, pilot and cockpit, I also painted the engines correctly (yellow ring around the front and some black/gray for exhaust). Once I 'touched it up', the model turned out a lot nicer. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars A Decent Model. *by M***T on Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2013* Overall this model kit isn't too terrible considering what it has to work with.My main complaints are that some pieces are misshaped or warped and the yellow color is too pale for my tastes. Then the chrome was blotchy and stained, so entirely useless. You're also very likely to have chips in the chrome where it was attached to the sprues. They come with all the details and you just have to snap. This, on the other hand, requires for you to paint Anakin, his seat and....C3PO.
