Little Giant CV-10 Check Valve is a replacement check valve for the following Little Giant Series Condensate Pumps - VCC, VCMA, VCL-14 and VCL-24. The CV-10 has is 1/4-inch MNPT x 3/8-inch Barbed. The part number is 599065. Check valves prevent water from backing into the pump causing the pump to fast cycle (turn on/off quickly) which can shorten the lifespan of the motor.

**Q: Does this check valve need a threaded water container or is there a tightening nut for both ends?**
A: It is intended to screw into a threaded hub on the tank. But I would expect that if you had a nut of the proper thread you could put it through an threaded hole in a tank (it comes with an O-ring that could serve as the gasket).By the way, this valve does not always shut off tightly. If you need to be absolutely sure no water runs back into the tank, this will disappoint you.Best regards,Doug

**Q: Is the plastic ball spring loaded?**
A: No, it is held in place by gravity.   The water flows upward, opening the valve, and when the water stops flowing, gravity pulls the ball back to the closed position.

**Q: Will this work on model vcma-15ul 554401?**
A: Yes, if you are buying it new, it should already have one of these installed. If you are replacing it, this will work just like the new one.

**Q: Will this degrade if used with propylene glycol coolant?**

When diagnosing, make sure that the pump does not squirt you in the face. This is also a good time to clean all the crud out of the pump which will take a whole lot longer to do than the few minutes needed to replace the valve.
