After a good amount of research, I found very few types of mapping software that have the capabilities of MapPoint, but are under $1,000. I was able to take tables from Excel and import them into MapPoint with ease. The import feature was an easy to use wizard that was able to translate addresses, cities, counties, etc and visually display them on the map. It even assisted in clarifying and correcting conflicting city, state, zip data.A few issues I have with the product:1) You are unable to adjust the size of density bubbles. It would be very helpful to allow the user to create a bubble based on a certain distance diamater and have it maintain that size scrolling in or out. As such, sometimes the bubbles can be distortive when taking a different view of the map.2) Labeling capabilities are poor. I would like to have the label, comment, etc. relating to a paricular record be available to show on the map when printing rather than having to hover over it on the screen or use another worksheet to determine other associated information.Overall, it works, but there are some simple fixes that could make it much better. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Business Use for MapPoint 2010 *by D***H on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 26, 2010* I recently purchased MapPoint 2010 through Amazon, so the price was already better than buying it directly from Microsoft or at any office supply stores. I am finding it to be very useful for my business. We have to generate a lot of maps for our clients and MapPoint is better than alternative mapping software, from the standpoint of clarity of the maps and boundary definitions. We do not need the wayfinding function, so having that is of no value.We use the territory function to highlight market areas by County or ZIP code. That works okay, but is a little cumbersome. I also find transferring a map to Word or PowerPoint documents to be more difficult that it should be. SmartDraw is easier and it isn't even a Microsoft product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars It suffers from the same problems as Google Map and Map Quest *by R***R on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on May 3, 2014* Sometimes the position of the location flag is not very accurate. And the data must be pristine as the software cannot deal with post office box numbers that are on the same line as the addresses. Garbage in garbage out. Sometimes it gets confused if "County Road" is abbreviated as CR or C. R. or even County Rd. so clean up the data in Excel before importing it into Map Point.
