Got what I paid for on time.
I received my order in a timely fashion. It was also exactly what I ordered and it was in good condition. Amazon thinks I still haven't gotten it yet, for some reason. That's the only issue.

Great Book using web assign is a must!
This Is my first time taking calculus, and I'm doing well in class. I think this is a great book and web assign makes Calculus easy to understand. If your teacher uses web assign watch all of the video and complete the master it and I think you'll do well also.

Pretty Nice
I really like that my Calculus book was available on the kindle because it sure is a lot nicer than breaking my back trying to carry around a super heavy text book. It is also nice to have it on the kindle beause you can make notes and highlight different items right on the Kindle. And then when you want to go back, instead of flipping trough the pages, you just go up to your "notes" section at the top of the page, "tap" it and then you can see all of you notes. I can be a pain sometimes when you are trying to compare your answers to the back of the book.

Book in excellent condition; shipping just perfect.
Shipping times and other details were just perfect. Book is like new, as expected. And I saved a bundle in not buying the latest editions but just the one prior. In my particular purpose, it did not matter if the problems are in the same order or any other minutia differences with the most recent edition. I needed a solid college-level book and I got it.

no worse than most, and how to use it effectively
One scarcely needs a review for a textbook like this: the student has no choice in the matter. That being said, one could do worse than to be assigned this book. The chapters are for the most part well written, and there don't seem to be any typos or mistaken figures (as is so often the case with high school textbooks). The weakest point of the book is the proofs, which are often too condensed to be readily intelligible. These can simply be skipped though. There are weak points (like the exposition of substitution method or Cauchy's proof) but most of it is quite good. It is however essential to get the well-written and indeed indispensable student solutions manual for this, as the real learning comes from seeing how many problems are worked out in detail. If you have the online e-book as well, the videos of the southern gentleman explaining things are outstanding. The only other suggestion is that one get a hold of Banner's "Calculus Lifesaver", which will see one through the foggier expositions in the all to frequent cases where the book is unhelpful and your professor runs by, rather than through, the material. Larson and the revised Thomas are no better. But above all, be prepared to work hard. Calculus as it is taught nowadays is not a very in-depth course, but there are enough 'moving parts" to its methods to keep a student busy. If one can't make a go of it, this really quite adequate textbook is not to be blamed.

What the doctor ordered, at a great price
My son's calculus professor at his university recommends this book, and it came in brand new condition and is appropriate for his Calculus 3 course he is taking. I appreciate being able to get his college textbooks at such a fantastic price! The bookstore had this book for $300 new; I paid almost a third of that. Keep up the great bargains!

This textbook is trash
Anyone or any institution considering this book for teaching or learning calculus should look elsewhere, this book will only confuse and infuriate you.I have just started my calculus class and we are just getting into the second chapter. So far I have been unable to read the text and actually learn anything. I have been having to use khan academy to explain what the book is actually saying so I can do the homework. It doesn't actually walk you through the process of doing the problems. It just presents the steps with the numbers and says as you can see this is the result. Well for those of us who have zero knowledge of calculus I cannot see why the result is the way it is. Also, they have an online feature to help with homework and other parts of the book, these hints don't actually tell you anything to help you complete the problem. It just gives you vague statements about the problem then asks you more questions inside the hint and further confuses me. Fortunately I discovered khan academy so that I can learn how to do calculus properly from someone who actually knows how to break down an problem and show you how to do them properly.
