Second, I use a knife grip, and the handles are ideal for that. The plastic isn't as "slide-y" as metal, but for me, that's fine; too slippery, and it gets away from me. This is because I do not crochet by holding the yarn still and letting the hook do all the work; instead, I do a combination of "throw" (yarn over) with my yarn hand and slipping the hook under and around the loops with my hook hand. The smooth plastic is perfect for that, as it holds my work in place better than metal would. I love that it's easy to use and slides through the loops like a knife through butter. If you prefer a more pointed hook, you will love these. I work with a lot of black yarn, as pictured, and these being white make it a lot easier to see what you're doing. Also, I like the pretty colour coding for the sizes.
