Medieval Buckler Polymer Shield, Soldier's Targe

Nice training shield. Great quality. A bit overpriced though.

Good weight, solid construction. Feels very good in your hands and works well for training. While a bit on the expensive side, it's very sturdy because this thing can take some hard hits without issue from a polymer sword. Also doesn't rust like a metal shield would, which is great when you take it outside and it ends up on the ground.

Works just like the Cold Steel buckler but only bigger. The main defensive point is the shield boss but the rest of the shield can take a solid beating. I've tried to damage this thing with police batons, synthetic trainers, knives, and steel weapons but the shield has held up nicely. A great training tool for those looking for shield and buckler as well as a durable shield for kids. Solid entry, cheaper than steel alternatives and still just as functional

Super light compared to my steel ballistic but pretty solid. Could be useful for self defense and easier to carry around. Saw the smaller Cold Steel Buckler stopping bullets on YouTube though I don't think it's designed for that. Great bargain though at around USD50 plus free delivery, usually retails over USD80.

It's bigger than I thought, but I like it. It's sturdy and heavy enough. However, I wish it could be mounted on my forearm instead of held in my hand. If I had to hold it in my hand, it should have been a bit smaller.

This shield has taken immense punishment with only scuffs and not even scratches. My buddy broke his solid oak staff in a duel with my other buddy. It is reasonably light weight and a fine choice if you want something bigger than the buckler. The only issue is the nuts and washers. They are too easy to lose so get lock nuts or lock washers. To the best of my knowledge they are 3/4.

Perfect for my son’s 13th birthday gift! It feels good to hold and is very strong! My boys are always play fighting with polypropylene swords, and this shield is a perfect addition. It’s a little expensive, but overall worth the money.

Very well made product. The only minor complaint is that the handle is not made so that you can feed your forearm through it; instead of supporting the weight with your upper arm, your wrist does all the work.

お値段に関しては取り敢えず置いておくとして、西洋剣術面と自己防衛面が多少混ざった評価ではありますが。 ・基本的評価 従来の92BKPB メディーバルバックラー及び小型版と同様、樹脂製センターグリップシールドとしては非常に頑丈で、木製や金属製のおおよそ同規格の盾より軽量で扱いやすいと感じます。 ・純粋な防御面 何らか防御をするなら純粋な防御面積の関係で此方の方が優秀だと思います。一般的な広さの廊下等での取回しも問題ないかと。しかし受ける面積が広いだけに装備する腕の(特に手首の)筋力と技術がこのサイズの盾なので相応に必須です。 ・実戦での運用面 センターグリップという構造上前腕部全体で支える訳ではないので負担が手首のみに掛かるのは従来のシリーズと同様ながら、小型のバックラーと比べてもグリップの通っていない外縁を突かれると支えきる事がまず出来ないので、攻撃の角度に合わせてグリップの角度を調節して盾を維持する技術や、盾を崩されても直ぐに立て直したり崩されて開いた盾の縁で相手を突く技術がないと運用は難しいかも知れません。 ・携行面での性能 サイズの問題で鞄などに入れていざと言う時の自己防衛に、というのは一般的な鞄の規格的に難しいだろうと思います。スーツバッグ(約50×50がそこそこ余裕で入るもの)なら鞄ごと盾にする事も出来て携行しやすいとは思いますし、持ち手やベルトの構造によっては腕全体で保持して腕の負担を減らしつつ身体の広範囲を守れるかも知れません。但し、盾で殴って応戦には向かないかも知れません。 ・総評 92BKPB メディーバルバックラー等と比べるならそれなり以上に腕力や盾の技量が無ければ使用は少し難しいと思いますし、そこをクリア出来るなら防御や応戦に関しては性能的に上ですし、武器の持ち手や構えの隠匿にも効果的です。 携行に関しては諸々自己責任となりますし、余りお奨めは出来ません。自宅での運用はそれなりに威圧感もあるので悪くない装備だと思います。
