Review: Technology is going forward or backward ? - So this is supposed to be better from previous VR headsets. But it's not. Display. Vive Pro display is better. If we talk about SDE. Vive Pro and Elite have almost the same SDE. But ViVe pro has larger sweet spot. So has a sharper image all around. Sweet spot on the vive elite is small because of that you se blurrier display arround the edges and because in vive elite LCD screens are used. In darker scenes the quality of the image is worse. I think audio is also better in vive pro than elite and comfort also. So vive pro is beter than elite if you are confused between the two.
Review: Well worth it! - The software for it, is not people friendly. Had to have my son who works in IT come over to help install. A few frustrating hours later he managed to get it set up. It is comparable with Steam and we were able to download a couple of games onto the computer no problem. Our computer was strong enough for it, and it runs quite smoothly.

**Q: Why would I choose this headset over the Index?**
A: The Cosmos has a slightly better resolution than the Index and the ability to go wireless.

**Q: Can I use this on a laptop ?**
A: The base stations connect through Blue Tooth, the head set connects with DP for video and a USB, as well as an external power adapter that plugs into the wall. A converter drop DP to HDMI might work for video.

Will it run on a laptop from 2005 running windows XP? No. Will it run on a new laptop that has all the required ports, Win10, and a compatible video chipset? Yes.

Is a very stable internet connection required for the install? Yes.

**Q: vive website says all tracking is inside the headset, so why would i need lighthouse devices that come with this?**
A: Tracking is inside the headset fully for the Vive Cosmos.  The Cosmos elite uses the lighthouse system to track.  The Cosmos has some issues with the 100% headset tracking and will at times loose track of one of your controllers if it is behind you (like reaching over a shoulder to grab and item) or if one controller is in front of the other blocking the view of the controller from the cameras in the headset.  The lighthouse system does not have that problem (I have never had an issue with losing track of a controller) and the lighthouse system offers some upgrade options that the standard Cosmos does not like additional sensors that can be used for full body tracking.

**Q: Can i return the cosmos elite?**
A: If its in the return window.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Technically awesome, but it's heavy...

All of the technical specs are top shelf and works as advertised. I picked up this and the Valve Index, the Index does have it beat on field of view, but the Vive's display is noticeably better in color and clarity . The Vive controllers have amazing tracking, but they're heavy and starting to show their age and there is no comparison between them and the Index's controllers (you can use those on the Vive too). But honestly my only major issue is that it's stupid front heavy and your neck will be hurting after a few minutes of play. If you are younger or don't have ripped neck muscles like a body builder, you may want to look at the much lighter Mixed Reality or Oculus headsets.
