MAYSHINE 18" Professional Dust Mop

Bought this in 2020 and it is still going strong in 2026. I appreciate the longer handle even though I am 5'7" – Swifters are too short and flimsy for use. I appreciate the color neutrality, it isn't RED it isn't BLUE it isn't GREEN which are the main competitors (O'cedar, Bonnaire and Swifter). I have 1200 sq feet of hardwood floors in an industrial loft and this works perfectly, picking up that fine city soot and mopping up. Thank you for making a quality product.

I’m really impressed with this mop. I use it every day for dry mopping and many times a week as a wet mop. (Spillage and incontinence problems here, I know, TMI.). The mop head is large, so I can do the floors quickly. I was afraid it might be too large for some places, but the 360 swivel means you can mops sideways using the narrow edge. The pads are great. They are easy to put on and take off. They will go in the washing machine, but I also wash them in the sink, wring them out and they dry quickly. The are very absorbent. ( see TMI above). The mop came with 5. I may order 5 more. The only slight issue I’ve had is that you need to learn how to use it. If you try to use it like a regular sponge mop, pushing back and forth, the mop head will flip on the backstroke. Mopping in an S or infinity motion solves that problem, and is more effective, anyway. Cleaning solution used is a plus, too. On the advice of several YouTube videos, I fill a spray bottle with water and and a small amount of Dawn dish soap. Works well, non toxic and essentially free. Some suggested adding a drop of essential oil to give your floors a nice scent. I may try that.

Great dry mopping, which is easy as pie. Picks up dust and debris well. Wet mopping takes a little more elbow grease for me. I have LVP floors with a wood grain texture, and I found that I need to press down a bit to really get them clean. My only issue with this mop is that the pole broke on one of the connector pieces today, which is about 4 months after the purchase. It didn’t snap at the screw on joint, but in between where the metal has a seam. That’s why my review is 4 stars. I’m past the return phase, and I don’t see how to contact Mayshine about just replacing one handle extension. I’m bummed, but this mop works well and is such a great price that I’m just going to buy another one. I plan to use the replacement mop, but have extenders on hand from the old mop. Plus I have lots of the cloths, so this way I’ll still have a compatible mop. I love the microfiber cloths. They clean the floor well, launder pretty well (surged seem has come loose on a couple, which doesn’t really matter. Just snip it), and they have stayed soft and absorbent over the few months I’ve had them. I usually use two microfiber cloths in one cleaning session. One is in my wash bucket soaking while the other is on the mop. Then when I feel like the moisture is running out on the cloth on the mop, I swap them out. Changing the cloth is pretty easy, and I prefer switching them out like this to using the same cloth the whole time. I wring them out well, and the floor dries quickly. If anyone cares, a capful of Mrs Myers concentrate in a couple gallons of hot water works great, smells awesome, and doesn’t leave a residue on LVP flooring. Wring your cloths out well so you don’t get water spots when it dries. I like this mop better than the Bona spray mop I used for a couple years. I hope this long review was helpful!

I've been looking for something appropriate for our hardwood floors after previously using a steam mop for all tile floors in a prior home. Everything that vaguely appealed to me was either out of my price range or missing important features. What I Love: Can be used wet or dry Resuable/washable cloths -- good quality and standing up to washings very well so far Smart design. A few years back, I was searching for this type of design and couldn't find anything like it. I couldn't have designed this better myself. That it, it is designed so that theoretically any cloth you choose could be snapped onto this mop. You're not forever committed to one particular type or style of cleaning pad with this. Note on a possible challenge: Some reviews mentioned that they didn't care for using this as a wet mop because the swivel head would flip up when pulling the mop back toward you (meaning, the mop was scrubbing the floor very effectively -- too effectively in some peoples' minds for this to be functional as a wet mop). Solution: Use pressure when pushing the mop away from your body and then lighten up on that pressure when pulling the mop back toward you. This will keep the swivel head from getting overly excited and you will clean your floors just as effectively. Scrubbing strokes out, gentle strokes in. Simple. Conclusion: Major bang for your buck with this mop with its excellent quality, great/versatile design, extra mop pads, and serious cleaning power. So much so, that I felt compelled to write a review for a mop of all things. :)

Excellent clamping feature holds mop pad securely. Mop pad generously sized to fit without tugging into place. Does not fall off even with robust mopping over heavily soiled areas. Microfiber is soft, won't scratch surfaces. I used it dry, in figure 8 pattern to pick up and make a pile of the fine sawdust from new flooring installation and refinishing of old hardwoods. That is very fine powder and it did a better job than a broom. Used wet, it wrings out well leaving the mop pad just damp enough so that the floor dries almost instantly. No streaking noted on hardwoods or laminate. Our floors have a matte finish so I suppose that helps hide streaks. The only thing I wish was that the microfiber had more grip to it. I am used to the Norwex microfiber that has a lot of grip to it. When you run your fingers over it, you can feel an almost stickiness to the texture of the fibers. These mop pads are less so. I also wish the pads were a little more densely packed with fibers for better pick up. The pads do shrink a little bit after washing in hot water on the fastest setting of the washing machine. I let them air dry. They still fit without pulling; however, I can tell that putting them in the dryer may cause them to shrink more. I'll try swapping out my favorite microfiber cloths today to see if they fit well or clean better. The only inconvenience is that this is not a telescoping mop so once the handle is assembled, you cannot adjust the length of the handle without putting a section on or off. The mop itself is sturdy and the clamps have a good weight to them and are secure and easy to use. It swivels very well so that it is easy to maneuver around and under furniture, cabinets & baseboards.

Thus far I have only used this for dry dusting the floor, but I found it to be easier to use than a Swiffer. I think the little extra weight adds to the ease of making it glide under and around obstructions with minimal wrist twisting. Its not heavy, just durable-feeling. The washable pads are SO easy to clip on and they stay on without wiggling around or slipping off. I was also impressed with how well the pads wash up and retain their shape and texture. With many of these style of cleaning product the pads dont wash well or retain their shape, so the fact that these MAYSHINE pads do puts them, in my opinion, miles ahead of any competition. It wasnt too hard to build, just needed a bit of oomph to get the handle to stay firmly in the base. Overall, I love this thing. Its solid, it looks like it will last, its easy to use, it has a long handle to aid in cleaning under console tables and such, the pads are fully washable and easy to clip on, the clips are sturdy, and when I showed it to my mom she loved it and wanted one, too. I recommend it and would purchase again.

The mop is built to last a life time. The handle is stainless steel, there are 4 sections and you can shorten it by using 3 sections. The pads are high grad durable micro fiber, machine washable. The pads fasten on the rubber back metal plate with 4 clips that hold the pads in place without wiggling loose. The pads are so easy to fasten. The mop pad swivels easy to get in hard spots. The price is the best value of any mop, PERIOD! Don't waste your money on the other flimsy mops out there. I have went through about 4-5 in the last 10 years. This will be the last mop I will buy. The best floor cleaner is to use with any mop is Murphy Oil Soap designed for wood floors. I like to put a few ounces in a spray bottle ( it costs about 7 cents ) and spray some on the floor and then mop over it. It does a great job of cleaning the floor surface and has a pleasant smell. You can buy Murphy Oil Soap for about 3-4 dollars for 32 ounces and this will last years; no sense to buy the expensive refills bottle cleaners that come with many mops today. It also makes the mop clumsy and off balance and awkward to use. Jams California

This is a very solid mop, the sections are numbered so you know just how to put it together. The mop head is brilliant, it has clips that flip up and hold the microfiber cloth in place while you mop, but the mop head is much larger than any other mops I've used before, like 1 1/2 time the size of a swiffer pad. I find the mop head too large for my small rooms, but I was impressed with the overall design and ease of use. UPDATE NOVEMBER 2021 I've been using this mop for months now and find you have to switch to another cloth to dry, or 2. The cloth pads aren't very absorbent, so I use 1 to mop and 2 to dry. Today I took it out of the closet and the clamps are all broken - all 4 at the same time. I have no idea happened, couldn't find any evidence of a spring on the floor near the mop, or anything that looks broken, they were working when I put it away the other day. Now I need to decide if I buy a 2nd one (I'd have lots of pads) or find a replacement with a slightly smaller, more normal mop head and clamps that don't break. Brilliant clamps right until they aren't. It's less expensive than when I bought it now, and has a coupon, so I might just buy a 2nd one.

This item exceeded my expectations. It is lightweight so it's very easy to use. Put warm water in the sink and add some liquid blue Dawn soap. That's it. The pads can be laundered.

Easy to use, good for everyday use.

I really love this! It's not too light which it makes it much easier to clean the floor as it distributes the wight around to all of the surface area the mop covers. Usually when they are too light it takes longer to clean the floor and you have to put more work into cleaning the floor.

Love how much surface area this mop covers. The pads go on very easily and stay put. Very happy with both dry mopping my hardwood floors and for using when spraying my hardwood - it gives the floors a nice even shine.
