The go to bass drum head for every brand
This is the go to drum head for bass drums! The factory head on my DW kit was absolute trash, and I was really unhappy with the sound of the bass drum when I got it. Once I switched out to this head the drum sounded thumpy and controlled. With a vent cut into front head the base absolutely thumps. Playing live, with a microphone it is even better.

Money well spent. Excellent sound for louder modern music
The head is two-ply hydraulic so it is not going to break. It is essenatially turning your bass drum into a cannon. The initial attack is etremely loud and thunderous. It is a blend of a loud punchyness but with a full deep bass sound (not a click). It has a medium decay. Although I love this head and it is worth every penny, in my opinion this is exclusively for loud modern music music. This is not a soft subtle sound. It is not gentle and easy. I purchased this for a vintage jazz kit and it does not sound natural with the sound of the other drums (mainly the toms) and music common to the period they were designed for, esp with white coated heads. This will be going on another kit for rock/metal where it will perform extremely well. Take the application into consideration when purchasing this head.

FAR Superior to Evans EMAD
I switched from Evans EMAD and the difference is night and day. These sound so much better. EMAD's have problems. EMAD's rattle and buzz in mysterious ways that are impossible to completely eliminate. On quiet material, you can definitely hear it in recordings and it is maddening. Also EMAD's make it impossible to use certain triggers. These Aquarians sounds open, rich and controlled while suffering from none of the problems I have with Evans. There's a reason people swear by Aquarian for kicks and now I've experienced it first hand.

Made To Last
I originally had one of these on my very used BD for years. It was replaced with an Evans hydraulic head. The outside ply cracked in less than 8 months. So, it's back to a known and trusted workhorse. Not the cheapest head, but probably the best related to durability. The sound is good as well.

this is the best bass drum head available
To me, this is the best bass drum head available. Yes, you pay for it, but it sounds great, it's durable, and you will get your money's worth. At a recent gig, my bass drum mic had to be turned off because of too much vibration form a shaky stage. I didn't want to lose the sound of a thumping bass drum, so I was stomping extra hard on the pedal. My current head is kind of old now, so I thought I'd go right thru it, but there were no problems whatsoever (and it sounded awesome!). The ring reduction strip around it works wonders. Only bass head I will ever use.

A MUST HAVE!!!!
If you have never put a superkick 2 on an old kick drum...... its like putting a mustang engine in a toyota Corolla. This is the third time I have experienced it and I always think it won't be as amazing as I remember.... but it was even more so. I bought a cheap used mapex. Kick sounded drab. Again, cheap kit...... after playing with tuning the remo head it had on it i finally ordered one of these.... absolutely amazing. I barely had to tune it at all. Thumps. This is the one most important thing you can do. I think with ducktape and a superkick 2 I can make any drumset sound amazing.

Decided to give Aquarian a try and really love the sound this head brings out of my 14x22 ...
Been a long time fan of the Remo Powerstroke and have used Evans EMAD heads in the past. Decided to give Aquarian a try and really love the sound this head brings out of my 14x22 maple Ludwig kick! I need no muffling with is good because I run a Kelly Shu internal mic mounting system and there's not much room for a pillow or other means of baffling. I'm happy. Going to remain an Aquarian user for a long time :)

Incontournable !
Très bonne peau de grosse caisse, le son est plus rond, plus précis, plus flatteur... A coupler avec une Aquarian Regulator en peau de résonance, c'est le top pour avoir "le gros boulet" !!!

Yes rude boy
This kick batter head, although pricey, IS WORTH EVERY GOSH DARN PENNY BROTHER! Didn’t need a new reso, still use some damping for the reso but this bad boy is a serious hard hitter. You can get exceptional hard smash out of it safely and easily or it still plays beautifully when being more delicate. I was sold from a YouTube comparison video tbh. I’m so glad I bought it I am writing a review for anyone who is unsure.... JUST DO IT! It’s proper. Does exactly what is says on the package. Super bass. Really easy to tune. Really flexible applications. Sounds ace. My new go to, if this one outlasts my shell pack.
