A post-apocalyptic story of survival in a surreal prison built in the ruins of Tokyo. Framed for the brutal murders of his classmates by the mysterious Red Man, middle school student Ganta Igarashi finds himself sentenced to death and sent to the bizarre and fatal theme park/prison that has risen from the ruins of the Great Tokyo Earthquakeโa hell on earth known as โDeadman Wonderland.โ Ganta enters the Carnival Corpse, a battle between two Branch of Sin users. Gantaโs next opponent is a timid girl; can he even take her on? Meanwhile, deep in the bowels of the prison, the warden stands face to face with the Red Man. Who really murdered Gantaโs friends? Review: Deadman Wonderland 3 - Deadman wonderland is a gruesome, graphic, adult look at a privatized prison where inmates are forced to play deadly games to survive. I personally loved this series, plenty of gore, language, and dark themes kept me drawn in. I saw the anime before I read the manga, and the two tie very closely together thankfully. Must buy if you like dark, graphic stories! Review: Amazing!!! - I love Deadman wonderland. The book came in great quality!!

Some great background on Shiro in this one...
This is the third book in the Deadman Wonderland series. While I didnโt enjoy it quite as much as the first two books, it was still a great read. Each book has gotten a bit more disturbing, more violent, and depraved that the previous one. Ganta is now living with the other Deadmen in Ward G. He survived his first stint in Carnival Corpse and on return to the Ward meets the cute and petite Minatsuki, who Ganta is instinctively drawn to protect. Unfortunately for Ganta, Minatsuki has some pretty disturbing secrets. After that we learn more about Shiro and Ganta starts to remember things from his past that involve Shiro. Then we meet some new characters that are staging some sort of rebellion within Deadman Wonderland, they appear to be lead by the mysterious Naga. As if all this craziness wasnโt enough we meet a Supermonk named Genkaku who seems to be out to kill Ganta. The story gets a lot more complex in this book (as you can see from the above). Especially towards the end of the story we meet a lot of new characters and the story takes a lot of new twists. There is a ton of action in here. A good portion of the book is a Carnival Corpse fight between Ganta and another Deadman. The illustration continues to be incredibly well done with a lot of great detail, itโs also easy to follow. This book is rated for older teen, which I guess I agree with. Itโs very very violent and deals with a lot of disturbing subjects such as torture, incest, murder, and gory dismemberment to name a few. Just make sure you know that going in. Overall this was another great installment in the Deadman Wonderland series. I am excited to see what happens in the next book.

As expected
The packaging was on the weaker side. The book was loose en a cardboard box, would have wished that it atleast was in a plastic cover for protection against the elements.

Battle two and Scar Chin
This third volume of the great `Deadman Wonderland' manga sees Ganta forced to fight against the Minatsuki, who is a `nice girl'. After this battle Ganta draws the attention of the underground organisation of Deadmen known as Scar Chin who wish to recruit the reluctant Ganta. This is another very entertaining volume of `Deadman Wonderland' with some nice fights, some good artwork and a few interesting developments for the plot. Minatsuki is a great character who can be funny and creepy. This volume also sees some revelations about Ganta's past and his relationship with Shiro and it also finally reveals the true identity of the Red Man. The volume sees the beginning of the Scar Chin arc and sets thing up to be very interesting for future volumes.
