One pitfall it has........... *by T***S on March 9, 2016* I've been a Photographer for many years and have had and still have more than my share of photo bags; especially backpacks. For me there are two categories of backpacks: 1) Those that carry photo gear and 2) Those that carry photo gear and a laptop/tablet. My favorite photo bags are Lowepro bags that only carry photo gear and no laptop space, but that being said........this bag is the closest merge of the two. I need now to carry my SurfaceBook so I needed to find a bag that will do this and carry my photo gear like I prefer. What I prefer is a photo bag that the main access is from the back...a "flipside". Also I like to be able to access my camera body and lens quickly without unzipping the main compartment and with this bag you can!....from the top or the sides. I'm also not one who likes miles of waist straps and this bag does not. The shoulder straps are VERY comfortable and with how the straps are positioned this backpack when fully on my back is more comfortable than any photo backpack to date. Not quite sure why yet? This bag holds a smaller computer and tablet in the main flap. This is not ideal as the flap can open and if you are not careful...whap!...but it is well padded and works. The bag is also deep so if you do have a bulging laptop and tablet stored in the main opening flap then when closed it should not crush your camera gear. In face Manfrotto smartly put a zippered barrier between the two. Nice! The one reason however I don't give it five stars is that there are NO exterior pockets or water holder pouch. Not that I carry water in it but use those pouches for sunglasses, accessories, etc. I would have traded one of the side openings for a nylon pouch or storage PROS: - Very lightweight but sturdy material - Good size. About the size of the Lowepro Flipside 500 but not as fat/thick/wide - Carries a SurfaceBook or similar sized notebook even with in outter sheath cover. Also carries a 10" tablet - Access on the backside (flipside style) of the backpack - Quick camera access from a zippered top flap or two side flaps. - Very comfortable straps and weight distribution of the backpack - Not too much of the extra strap stuff that makes is hard to unzip and access the camera compartment - Wheeled luggage strap harness on back CONS: - No extra storage space. One little zippered compartment on the inside of the flap and only flatter items can be used there. The two little storage pockets are sewn so that only memory cards will fit. - No external storage compartments - Although the waist strap is small and doesn't get in the way, it does not detatch.
