It should, it is a USB. If your port works you should have no problems.

Can you pick it up easy or is it too heavy and needs to just be slided

It looks heavy, but it's not really. I has substance, but how often does one need to pick it up. It is heavier than a corded mouse, mostly because of the 2 AA batteries (which are so easy to change). The USB cordless plug in will actually fit under the cover for storage when transporting, and the back point of the cover (seen closest in photo) has a small magnet to hold it on . 3 fingers on top, nice thumb-wheel, and little finger and thumb rest easily on the sides. Glides very nicely too. Hope this helps.
