I’m confused. So add water, throw in tablets and then run cycle like normal?

Different instructions based on front or top loading. Front loading is basically what you said, top loading it must sit and also run a cycle. For both the drum must be wiped out afterwards.

Can't fill tank with water first due to my machine function. Lid gets locked and it's auto sensor time. Can I use this product?

I just place the tablet inside the machine, close door and start. Product works great.
