Will it work on asus z10pe-d8 ws motherboard - 2 x xeon

Short answer: No Long answer: This requires PCIe bifurcation on the motherboard, and the ASUS z10pe-d8 doesn't support that. Your best bet to get four PCIe M.2 drives on those sixteen PCIe lanes would be to get two of these 8x cards that don't require bifurcation https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081SJYCTL and put them in the PCIe slots that, when populated, are 8x slots. On your motherboard this would be PCIe slots 1 and 2 or 3 and 4.

Does it have its own hardware raid or is it dependant on mb/software?

the disks showed up as independent volumes in Windows and I used software raid. It does not come with a raid controller.

This work with linux?

I'm using it in an Ubuntu 18 server right now.
