High Quality at a reasonable price
Its difficult to wax poetic about a cable - if it works well you should never even notice that its there. And I want to be careful here not to wade into a discussion of how much a cable is worth, especially when talking about digital signals that are either there, or not. I pondered the question of $3 or $300 cables for a long while, and chose to hedge my bets by buying this one for the following reasons: a) Its pricing places it right in the middle of the pack. b) you can see just by looking at it why it might merit this price. c) It would be madness for SCEA to sell a product as graphically intense as the PS3 and hobble it with poor quality cables. (These cables are made by SCEA too.) So what do I get? I get extremely high cable construction quality, and a set of extra long cables. The 10-foot USB cable length is a boon since it lets me position myself comfortably away from the monitor. The cable jacket is a very flexible cloth like material that makes it look like this cable will last forever, no matter how tightly I squeeze it through the openings in my entertainment center. The ends fit well into my HDMI connectors and are supposed to be gold plated. All I care about now, is that the images are wonderfully clear ... and I can safely go back to ignoring cables.

Two questions answered...
I bought this Sony cable package from Amazon with my PS3 after reading the reviews here and pondering the cost. Here is my answer to two questions people generally ask. First, how long are the cables? The HDMI and USB cables are both 10 ft. long. That's great for the USB, but a lot of excess length for the HDMI that must be rolled up and hidden behind your equipment. Second, why do they cost so much and are they worth the price? These are high quality flexible cables with fabric covering that immediately unroll into a straight line and have no lasting stiff kinks like all the other plastic covered cables I have. That definitely makes them a pleasure to use and worth their cost to me. The output on any AV system is no better than its weakest link. It makes no sense to save a few bucks on a longterm purchase like cables that are relatively inexpensive, yet vital parts of my $5,000 AV system. You can buy these cables knowing that you are getting the best quality while also avoiding the irritation of needing to unravel them each time you use your PS3. I'm glad I bit the bullet and bought them up front so I have one less thing in life to second guess or buy again...

Solved some of my technical problems
Yes, this is a bit expensive for cables, but I feel that the problems they have solved for me has been worth it. I have a PS3 and a Sony Bravia Z series TV. For the first several months we had the PS3 connected to the TV with a HDMI cable we got from a friend, and we also had the annoying quirk of frequently losing sound from the PS3. Quite often when the TV or PS3 was turned off and then back on, there would be no sound from the PS3. The only way for us to remedy this was to do a hard reset of the PS3 (while off, hold the power button for a few seconds until it makes a second beep and then let go - in case you are interested), which was just about every time we wanted to use it. This involved going through the HDMI set up menus and losing personalized PS3 preferences. While these new cables are expensive, they are MUCH more reliable than the old ones. We have had a few instances of no sound since the change (but it is much less frequent now) and the issue can now be solved by simply power cycling the TV (which is quicker and leaves the PS3 preferences intact). So, yes, they are expensive, but they have solved a technical headache, and are a pretty small price compared to the TV and gaming system really, and is well worth it if it makes them work appropriately.

Nice quality
Yes yes, I know, as long as you're getting a decent quality HDMI 1.3a cable it doesn't make any difference what you get. Still, this is far from the most overpriced cable around, and it is nice. What I really love about it is the USB cable it includes. As others have mentioned, the material it's made out of is great (the HDMI cable is the same way, but that's less relevant since it's behind your TV and you'd hardly ever move it). It's almost like a cloth or something-I've never seen a cable built like this before. It doesn't seem to "curl" up like most cables do. I'd prefer the PS3 just use wired controllers, but that cable is a decent compromise. Frankly I wish it had been included with the PS3... It's also 10 feet long which is great. I actually found a use for the short USB cable included with the PS3-I have my PS2/PS1 memory card adapter hooked to it, since that only needs to sit next to the system itself. Note that these nifty USB cables are also sold in a separate 2 pack for slightly less. I ended up buying those too so I can hook up multiple controllers.

Just buy them... seriously.
What is there really to complain about? For a little more than 8 dollars I snagged up two of these HDMI cables for myself and a friend. For how they look/the quality that is made prevalent from the unboxing I don't really believe there's a better cable out there. Recently, an HDMI went on me that I bought from gamester (go figure) with the only cables that seem to work being the freebies that you get with the new game systems anymore. I have been using these HDMI's for roughly 6 months now and I have no complaints whatsoever. They do what they are supposed to and are cheaper than lower quality brands/makes. I switched the freebie cable to my ps3, kicked this new cable to my ps4 and everythings been perfect thus far. These things likely will survive an explosion and provide great visuals for many gaming systems to come. Bottom line: Just buy the cables, your gaming system and television will thank you along with your wallet expecting a high-five next time you take your lady out.

Updated: Great quality and length
OLD Review: "Does the same job as any other HDMI cable or USB, but at twice the price. Very high quality braided cables though." The price is now $19 here on Amazon, so I figured I'd update it. These cables have served me well for years now. This is the longest USB that I've ever used. It is perfect for charging a PS3 controller and using it on the couch. The HDMI works like any other, but it is a substantial length with excellent braiding.

HDMI cable
I purchased this cable as I needed cable for the PS3 and this came recommended. I had trouble getting the PS3 to switch to HDMI and couldn't figure out what the problem was. I reset and played with my sony TV but to no avail. I contacted Sony but all I got from them was the same info in the FAQ section. So finally I bought another HDMI cable. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001O7F5PI/ref=oss_T15_product Works fine, what bugs me is this was a new cable that turned out to be a DUD! How does that happen?

A bit pricey, but definately high quality cables
I was a bit skeptical about spending $40 at first on some HDMI cables when I knew I probably could have spent a fraction of the price on cheaper cables. So I purchased these really cheap $4.00 cables from Meritline and it seemed to work ok with my PS3, until one day i started getting these random blackouts on my screen. They would only last a few seconds, and then return to normal, but a few seconds could really interupt your game! At first, I didn't know what was wrong and thoguht it might be a problem with my PS3. But then I tested the HDMI cables on my blueray player and bingo. What I found out was that the cheap cables were not shielded, therefore they get outside interference from other power sources which causes the cable to lose connection. I purchased these cables and right out the package I knew they were high quality from the feel. They are gold plated and the wires are covered with a mesh material that feel very flexible and durable. I plugged them in and noticed that even the picture quality had improved. So this just proves that NOT all HDMI cables are the same. Yes, they are a bit pricey, and you probably can get cables that are cheaper that will do the job. But if you have $40 to spend on some quality cables, I say go for it. They're worth every penny. It even includes a long USB cable for your controller, much longer than the ones included with the PS3.
