McVitie's Jamaica Ginger Sticky Pudding Cake, 232 g (Pack of 1)

This is a proper classic. The cake is dark, sticky and full of strong ginger flavour without being unpleasantly sharp. It is moist enough to enjoy on its own, but it is also very good warmed up with custard or cream as a quick pudding. The 232g size is not huge, although it is rich enough that a small slice goes a long way. A reliable old-fashioned favourite that still tastes as good as expected.

First had this ginger cake in the 70s it’s my dad’s favourite and has become one of mine too. The flavour does not appear to have changed over the years. The consistency appears to be the same that I always remembered it a little smaller maybe in quantity but still a great product., but be mindful when ordering it through Amazon with other items you’re likely to receive a flat version of what you’re expecting, unfortunately I ordered with some other items being liquid washing detergent and it all went in together in one box, quite the disaster for anything soft that you are expecting to eat. Also, the Amazon packaging itself is so flimsy these days that often the postman has to retrieve items that have made it loose in the back of his van, and prime vans that are bigger probably don’t find your items until you realise that they’re missing from your delivery. Suggestion for Amazon would be consistency and training in regards to what needs to go in separate packaging and what needs to go in a bundle., but also stronger boxes are required 80% of the time.

Product was fine although arrived badly squash due to being packed in a box with heavy items. Just as well they were going in a trifles. Some common sense when Amazon packing items would make sense. No disrespect to the supplier of the item. Been buying in fact never buy any other ginger cake whether to eat with tea/coffee or make into trifle so it must be good as I'm the wrong side of 75yrs.

Love the cake forgot to buy it at supermarket order it arrived next day cheaper than Asda

Buy this cake every week, great price here on Amazon, it's my treat after work with a cuppa, this cake is consistently good, unlike alot of products today which are being ruined in an effort to cut costs or keep product price low. To those who says it gets squashed I suggest buying it with some multi pack crisps as then it comes in a box and the crisps cushion it :)

Sticky, ginger deliciousness!

This FOOD item was dumped in a box full of other items much heavier. Delivery arrived with the large box broken and everything in it completely squashed including this. I like this item bit it being squashed means it is impossible to eat. IT IS A SOFT FOOD ITEM. IT SHOULD NOT BE PUT IN WITH LOADS OF HEAVY ITEMS FOR DELIVERY IT US UNBELIEVABLE HOW YHIS SORT OF THING KEEPS HAPPENING. I AM FED UP OF COMPLAINING TO AMAZON I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS ITEM. IT IS A LONG TIME FAVOURITE IF MINE JAMAICA GINGER CAKE OR SQUASHED JAMAICA GINGER CAKE. Normally this is delicious. Not squashed it isn't.

Poor, cake size way smaller and tastes same but not sure it is actually good value as size smaller evwn though price reflects that .
