Though the federal government doesn't regulate used motor oil as a hazardous waste, some states do because of the environmental risks and health hazards that oil presents. Used motor oil from one oil change would pollute one million gallons of fresh water. Once oil gets into a drinking water supply, it's very difficult, time-consuming and expensive to remove. We do not recommend the application of motor oils with this spray gun and doing so will void all warranty. There are many Undercoating and Rustproofing products available on the market today that will result in better and longer lasting rust protection without damaging the environment.
