meross Smart Plug 15A, Works with Apple HomeKit, Voice & APP Control 4 Pack

I have ordered these smart outlets several times. The least expensive ones I've found that support Homekit. They are easy to set up and deploy around the house for various lamps/switches. I've used other outlets that are not homekit enabled without success. I have recommended these to several people who have the same positive feedback. Definitely my go to smart outlet.

I love these Meross Smart Plug Mini outlets. At this point I have around fifteen of them running throughout my house and they have been overall very stable. For the price the value is fantastic. When you compare the cost to some of the bigger name brands it is hard to justify spending more when these perform just as well in everyday use. I do use two other brands of smart outlets too, however those are one-offs. One is a Z-Wave outlet and the other is another WiFi one. The only feature that the other brand has that this doesn't is it shows the electricity usage which is kind of nice. I sometimes wish these had that, but isn't enough for me to start using another brand. I run a separate IoT network in my home so these plugs are isolated from the rest of my devices. I also maintain a dedicated 2.4G wireless network specifically for smart devices. Since these plugs are designed to operate on 2.4G only I made sure my wireless environment was set up correctly from the start. I did experience a couple of pairing drops early on but those were happening during a period where I was still tuning my wireless configuration. The whole smart home journey has been a learning process for me. Once I cleaned up my WiFi environment the plugs have been solid. I use these primarily in Apple HomeKit which has been seamless. I also keep the Meross app installed so I can bridge them into Home Assistant for more advanced automation. They respond quickly to commands and I have not noticed any unusual delays or missed triggers. For everyday automations like lamps seasonal lighting and small appliances they just work. Regarding some of the negative reviews I have seen a few common themes. One is compatibility with combined 2.4G and 5G wireless networks. The product is clearly advertised as a 2.4G device only. If someone is running a single SSID across both bands without understanding how their access points handle band steering that is a network configuration issue not a device defect. Any IoT device can struggle in a poorly configured mesh environment. I have also seen comments about potential fire hazards. In several of those reviews the user mentioned plugging in high draw appliances that exceed what a small smart plug should reasonably handle. Before using any smart electrical device it is important to understand amperage and load limits. These are perfect for lamps fans and other typical household electronics within their rated capacity. Used properly they have been reliable and uneventful in the best possible way. Overall I continue to buy them because they have earned my trust in real world use. If you have a basic understanding of your wireless setup and respect the electrical ratings these are an excellent and affordable addition to a smart home.

Customer support is excellent. Two of my plugs went bad after a year and they worked with me through email support to try and get it resolved. I could not get them to connect after doing all the stuff asked of me: reboot, reset, update everything including my wifi and iOS. Next thing I got was an email saying they would mail out two new ones to me.!! Took two days and I had them connected and working. Connecting and setup took a few tries though. One was immediate and the other took a few tries but it did eventually connect and set up using Apple HomeKit. I could get it setup in the Meross app but then couldnt figure out how to transfer ti over to HomeKit so I reset the plug(holding the power button for 5 seconds till it cycled) and it then worked with the HomeKit. Would like to to go more smoothly though, as they were brand new I was a little more patient and it paid off.

I recently purchased the Meross Smart Plug Mini, and I have to say, I'm thoroughly impressed with this product. Not only does it offer an impressive range of features, but it's also incredibly reliable and stable within my HomeKit network. One of the things I love most about this smart plug is how easy it was to set up. All I had to do was download the Meross app, connect the plug to my Wi-Fi network, and voila - it was ready to use. From there, I was able to control the plug using the app, as well as through Siri, Alexa, Echo, Google Assistant, and Nest Hub. It's incredibly convenient to be able to control my devices with my voice, and I love that I can do it all from one app. The reliability of these smart plugs is also really impressive. I have over 50 devices in my HomeKit network, and these plugs have never given me any issues or dropped connections. They always work exactly as intended, which is a huge plus. Another great feature of these smart plugs is the timer function. I love being able to set a schedule for my devices to turn on and off, which saves me time and energy. It's also helpful for when I'm away from home and want to give the impression that someone is still there. Overall, I would highly recommend the Meross Smart Plug Mini to anyone looking for a reliable and versatile smart plug. It's easy to use, works with a variety of voice assistants, and is incredibly stable within a large HomeKit network. I’m writing this review as a review reader, which is why I’m surprised I’m returning this product and writing a negative review. I’ve only owned it for a month and two days. This product was a complete letdown. Despite the positive reviews, I had high expectations and believed it would be reliable and good quality. However, my experience was far from that. In reality, setting it up directly via Apple Home is very annoying and time consuming. I initially set up the outlets using Apple Home, which inexplicably consumed an hour of awkwardly attempting to scan the Apple Home barcodes on the bottom of all the switches that needed to be plugged in for it to function. Even then, the Apple Home app took an incredibly long time to properly configure itself each time I needed to add an outlet. But thankfully, after that, there was no issue. After a few days, I decided to remove Apple Home from my devices. I had stumbled upon a discovery on the internet about my Samsung monitor being capable of functioning as a SmartThings Hub. To set up the outlets on Smarthings, you need the Meross app with an account to connect the outlets. It took a while, but not as much as the hassle with Apple Home. However, this isn’t the reason I disliked the app in particular; I just wanted to note this down. What made me despise this product was a while later when my internet company replaced the router because it had a damaged component. The router would randomly work for a short period before inexplicably stopping. Let me tell you, switching to the new Wi-Fi router was a nightmare. Even though there’s a setting to change the network, the app insisted that I connect to the old router beforehand to facilitate the switch. Unfortunately, the old router was already returned to the company, leaving me with no choice but to reset all the outlets and reconnect them. Out of the 3/4 that reconnected successfully in about 10 minutes, 1 of them was giving an issue and refused to stay connected to my phone, preventing me from configuring it to my account again. Eventually, after around 15 minutes of troubleshooting I was able to configure the outlet that was giving an issue. Afterwards, I returned to the SmartThings application to reconnect all four outlets to that app, it went successfully but when I went to test all of the outlets one of them refused to work, it showed when I would turn it on it would give power for a moment and immediately stop giving power again. The thing that confused me the most was that the outlet was clearly showing that it was on, yet it refused to provide power to the previously functioning item. I then plugged in a different device and tried the same, and it exhibited the same issue with that item as well. I came to the conclusion that after exactly one month and one day of owning this product, it inexplicably broke on its own. This disappointment is in part due by the product’s very poor longevity, which reminded me of purchasing cheap junk from places like AliExpress or Temu. The poor durability of this product was simply absurd. So, I ended up replacing the product with a similar product called Linkind. My experience connecting those smart plugs was incredibly quick and straightforward compared to these ones. It took less than 7 minutes in total. There was no need for an external separate application or account. It connected directly to the SmartThings app, which I assume works well with any other smart home system you may be using. Another thing that I made note of about this other product and this one, is that the Linkind brand outlet just gives better quality, even though it retails around 2-3 dollars cheaper and have 12k less reviews.

Pro: size - two plugs easily fit in a standard double outlet and on standard size power strip (on compact strips you would still be able to fit a two-prong plug next to it.) This is a huge improvement over the old TP-link plug that took up 2 spaces on my power strip even when it was placed on the top (see picture.) Operation & Integration - once connected the plug just work. I quickly forgot that they weren't always there; waiting for my command. I can turn off all the lights in the house from the iphone flip-up screen. Installation - Like a lot of Meross products, the plug has EZ mode and AP mode. The detail instruction sheet takes you through EZ mode. However, the plugs were all in AP mode (slow blink) and I could not get it to blink fast even after 3 resets. Once you get over the fact that the instruction sheet is quite unhelpful and follow the instructions below, and you will find that installation is a breeze. 1. Plug it in. Make sure that the light blinks green/amber. If it's steady green, as in a previous setup, press and hold the button for 5 seconds to get it into setup mode. 2. on you iPhone, go to Settings | Wireless. wait a few seconds until the plug shows up under the heading "set up new device..." The name is "meross_sw_B210" or something similar... Click on it. 3. You now get a message that allows you to "Add to Home & Wi-Fi" (see picture.) Smash that link to turn on the camera and scan the top of the plug to add it into Homekit. 4. After about 30 seconds Homekit allows you to select the room and name of the new device. The phone automatically switch back to you home wireless network. cons: Not a huge issue, but the position of the button on the side of the plug could be challenging to your less techie household members. The ability to share homekit settings with everyone can mitigate the issue, but I'm a bit concern that I'll get a talking-to the next time my wife tries to turn on the floor lamp in the den. I have a couple of floor lamps and my Roku device connected to plugs. No more having to get up to manually reset Roku. A voice command to Alexa does the trick. The 4th plug is connected to my electric tea kettle to schedule it for my morning brew (until I get a smart tea kettle, but that's a battle for another day.)

I started my home automation journey several years ago with the purchase of a number of Wemo light plugs and switches. This was a great initial start but as I transitioned to HomeKit I needed another solution. Wemo introduced their HomeKit bridge which served as a temporary solution until I could find a way to transition to native HomeKit in a cost effective manner. Recently I discovered the Meroos Smart Plug Mini, 16A plug, on Amazon and was impressed with their compact size and that the plugs provided HomeKit as well as Alexa, Echo, Google Assistant compatibility at a very affordable price. I did not hesitate ordering first a 2 pack and then a follow up 3 pack of the plugs to upgrade my HomeKit system. The Meroos plugs are a great value and work fully as advertised with respect to HomeKit. The plugs are ETL certified to the UL STD 60730-1 and 498 for use in a 120VAC/15A outlet. The 3 pack comes neatly packaged with the 3 plugs, Meroos and HomeKit guides. Reference photos of package contents and plug installed in wall outlet. HomeKit installation is straight forward. Plug the device into an outlet, wait for the device to initialize (LED on side will alternately blink between green and yellow), open the HomeKit app and select add device, and point your iPhone at the QR code on the top of the device. HomeKit completes the installation from there. Reference HomeKit installation screen grabs. Suggest initially accepting the default HomeKit device name until you decide which physical room you will be using the plug in and then rename within the HomeKit app. Siri uses both room and device reference. So, “Hey Sire, turn on Living Room Lamp” can be distinguished from “Hey Sire, turn on Bedroom Lamp”. Both will be named “Lamp” but are distinguished by their room. It is also recommended that you download the Meroos app as HomeKit currently does not have the capability to update the firmware on your devices. The Meroos app will manage the firmware update process as shown in the attached screen grabs. I can highly recommend the Meroos mini plug for those just starting with HomeKit as well as those that may be looking for an affordable upgrade.

Solo reconocen redes 2.4, si solo tienes wifi 5ghs debes activar la 2.4, si tu ruteador manda las dos con el mismo SSID, apaga temporalmente la 5, tu celular debe estar en esa misma red; ya configurado me ha funcionado bastante bien y sin problema. No necesitas la App Meross del fabricante, iOS los reconoce con solo escanear el QR.

El producto me encanto. Es súper funcional y muy fácil de instalar y programar a través de la aplicación. Perfectamente compatible con la app Home de IOS y se puede activar o desactivar por voz con Siri. Lo recomiendo altamente. Instale dos dispositivos en exterior para una fuente y unas luces de jardin y su conectividad es muy estable a pesar de que el módem de internet no está tan cerca.

I recently bought this 4-pack of Meross Smart Plugs and I’m honestly loving how much easier they’ve made my everyday life! They were super easy to set up with my iPhone, and the app walks you through everything step-by-step. I had all 4 connected and working within minutes! The plugs work perfectly with Apple HomeKit, Alexa, and Google Assistant, which is great since I use different devices around the house. I can now turn off lights, the coffee maker, or even my fan just by asking Siri or through the app — no more getting out of bed! ☕️🛏️ I also love the scheduling feature — I have my lights turn on automatically at sunset and off when I leave for work. It gives me peace of mind and saves energy too. And they’re compact enough that I can stack two in one outlet, which is super handy. Honestly, these smart plugs are a must-have if you’re trying to build a smart home without breaking the bank. Reliable, easy to use, and they just work. Highly recommend!

These plugs work as you’d expect once setup. They react VERY quickly through HomeKit when working with automations, Siri, or manual control through the Home app or the Meross App. Setup: This was the most involved part. As others have stated, HomeKit setup can be a little tricky if you haven’t done it before, that being said I didn’t run into nearly as many issues as other reviewers seemed to have had. I setup directly as a HomeKit device through the Meross app following the on screen HomeKit prompts. I also set up the devices in a kitchen outlet first so I don’t have to bend over behind a couch for the initial setup. This also allowed me to keep the phone within a foot of the device for setup which seemed to help. The first time I tried I was standing 6 feet away with my phone in my hand and it didn’t complete the setup, the please wait wheel just kept spinning. Once I left the phone on the counter directly under the plug (~1ft away) it setup instantly, the HomeKit prompts do tell you to stay “close” to the device while setting up. Each plug must be set up individually, as such I recommend doing just one at a time so you don’t get confused about which is which. Once the HomeKit setup was complete, you have to add the device to the Meross app again as it is not done automatically during the HomeKit setup. This isn’t a bug, this is a HomeKit thing, not a Meross thing. In the Meross app you tap the “+” button in the top right and. The HomeKit plugs are recognized in the Meross app as unlinked deviced at the top of the add device page in the app. Once added to the app, it will prompt you for a firmware update, let the device do the update (1min), and then your done. You can not control the plug through the app or the home kit app. Use: It’s a plug that you either turn off or on. My use case was for a pair of floor lamps that didn’t have a dimmer, but required me to lean over my couch to turn on/off. The device reacts EXTREMELY quickly through HomeKit. The lag time between hitting the “switch” in the Home app is non existent. Conclusion: Over all I’m very happy with the plugs. Sure they may have limited use cases, but if you have an application for an automated outlet, these work great! They are also ETL listed so you know they aren’t some cheap product that will accidentally burn your house down.
