That transformer lasted about 2 months. This is the replacement and I couldn't be happier! It is a big, beefy unit with a built-in photocell. It has 3 timer settings plus a dusk/dawn setting. I did a lot of comparison shopping and this one provided the best value. I haven't had it long ... so I can't comment on its durability. But so far I'm very happy!It's now a year later (7/16/16) and the transformer has been running continuously for about a year. No problems whatsoever! I've even added a few more LED lights to the string. I left it on all winter --- I thought the cold and snow might ruin it -- but it didn't. I use it to run a mix of LED and Halogen landscaping lights totaling 32 watts. It looks pretty durable and seems to be very well sealed against the weather. With the low power consumption of LED's, you can power a pretty large amount of landscaping lights with this unit. The unit is very simple to set up and very simple to use, pretty much foolproof. I use it in auto mode for dusk to dawn operation. Instead of using one large transformer to power a bunch of lights I'm planning to buy 2-3 of these each one running a smaller string of lights around my house. For the same output power buying several of these is cheaper than buying one big transformer and I wont have to run low voltage wire everywhere. If one fails it won't break the bank to replace it.
