Review: 2-16 oz bottles of starter…now tapping the brew!! - With 6 to 7 years brewing experience, I know all you need is starter tea. The bottles arrived, I opened the bag and placed each separately bagged bottle on the counter. Yes, the bottom of each bottle bulged, as expected. Good sign of healthy tea! And it smells very healthy!! I continuous brew in a large dispenser with a spigot. I used both bottles (16oz each) following the recipe for 1 bottle. I like to keep it strong while introducing different water, different sugar, new environment. In a week I’ll add the other gallon of sweet tea. Added a picture my brewing of vessel & one taken after 5 days; good healthy formation of the “scoby/mother” ph was 3.0. So I added the 2nd gallon of sweet tea. Happy brewing! **Q: If I only used half of the bottle, how can I save it for the next batch, or will it die?**
A: I keep mine in the fridge for 2 weeks. I make a full batch and only use 9 bottles. But I make one batch after the other and use the 2 week old starter tea. Seems to work for me.

**Q: Can I use this with soda stream?**
A: I don't know the answer to that question, but my bottle blew its cap off during shipping and there are no returns on this item, and I could even find a way to contact the seller for a replacement.

**Q: Can i grow ascoby with this starter tea?**
A: This is a great starter and you can grow a SCOBY with it.

**Q: Do you use ice packs to ship your starter in the Summer to avoid excessive fermentation that leads to higher acidity and pressure build up?**
A: The one I received didn't have an ice pack, first one didn't work, but the company sent me a replacement and everything was great

Ok ,I wrapped my bottle in a dish towel, (Don't shake it. Keep it with as little movement as possible). and placed it in the refrigerator from March 6 thru March 9 .. When I checked it today it had some give when squeezed the bottle,( not much but some. ) I couldn't open it, So my husband put a towel on the top and used pliers,and actually got the bottle opened. It did not fizz all over the place. However this stuff is really active. So glad I didn't trash it. Good product. The company just has to figure out how to get it to us so this doesn't keep happening. I AM happy with this product. Having trouble submitting this review. Product is unusable. Bloated bottle won't sit flat on countertop. Cap is not budging, probably a blessing as it might explode. This product is non refundable.
