All i can say is that I wear these to snowboard... Have fallen on rocks hidden under snow without issue. I can 'take a knee' when i want to, need to. I'll not board without them.For the price, I'd suggest just trying them out. or perhaps, go to home depot, take a pair of knee pads and see if you're able to 'take a knee' without pain. I'd suspect that pain would be due to pressure of kneeling / pressure of weighting your knee, as opposed to any pressure of the ground puts on your knee. If that's the case, it wouldn't matter if you were kneeling on a mattress, or concrete. **Q: I see it says one size fits all; but is it adjustable to fit kids?** A: They are held onto your knees with elastic straps. They would probably adjust pretty tight, but the plastic part will still be the same size as what fits big grown men :) Teenagers would probably be fine, but I'd look into a kid specific one for anyone younger. **Q: Would these be able to wear comfortably under work pants? for someone get on their knees to access under desks in a professional environment** A: I would say yes. These are some of the thinnest knee pads I've ever owned and they still protect great. If your work pants are on the baggier side you'll be fine. If you weren't looking specifically for hardshell pads, then a thinner option would be volleyball pads, but these are the thinnest hardshells I've owned and they saved my knees a hundred times while snowboarding. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Knee Savers. I went a whole season without knee pads and then I decided that having two horribly bruised knees isn't something I felt like dealing with any more.I don't fall a lot, but when I do, it's usually on or around a box/jump. These things are godsends. Besides protecting you when you fall, I tend to plop down to my knees while waiting for my friends to catch up, and with these that action is completely painless. Without pads, I couldn't really do that with the ease I do now. It's not a big thing but it's a convenience.Unless you're pro and never fall, just get these. I know cool kids don't wear pads. After the first day, my knees were pretty sore both from falling and just from stopping/setting up.I decided to get a full set of protective gear, and these were a great choice for knee protection! I gouged a 2 inch deep foot long hole in the snow several times, and did not feel a thing.I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is trying to learn snowboarding. (Along with wrist guards/butt pads :) )If you don't feel safe falling, your progress will be hindered. A proper set of protective gear really gave me to confidence to keep trying new turns. I fell a bunch, but never felt close to really hurting myself. I made a lot more progress feeling like I could fall :)As far as this product is concerned, the straps are adjustable and comfortable. Upon first use I felt a bit of pinching in the back, but after loosening up during use they were completely comfortable. I wore them over a layer of long johns, under my snow pants.The hard plastic shell offers good protection, and the layer of foam underneath is extremely comfortable. It is good both for falling and for kneeling on when you're on the hill.As far as sizing goes, I'm 180lb/6ft and these fit perfectly. I'd estimate these products would fit pretty well on most if not all adults.In summary, if you're looking for snowboarding knee protection, you will not be disappointed in this product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I love these. Pretty minimalist, but perfect. *by H***L on May 3, 2020* These are the best kneepads ive ever worn. Used them on a primarily dismounted deployment to Afghanistan. I'm EOD so I could get away with it. And they are black, so less noticeable. I used them when I got back for rehabbing a house. The best tning about them is tbey are not bulky at all. Thats my biggest comaint about most knee pads. These are pretty thin. It's a hard cap and thin padding. Pretty minimalist. But thats what i love about them. Not as cushy as PatellaT and whatnot. Just enough to do the job. They don't sag down as much as the bulky ones either.
