Heat Storm HS-1500-TC Tradesman Ceiling Mount Infrared Heater, 1500 Watt

I was expecting baby goats in Dec and January. Was able to mount to the ceiling of the barn. It's works great. The babies where warm and no fire hazard. Love it.

They are lightweight, put out as much heat as any other infrared heater at its wattage, and the ceiling mounts are slick. The only thing to mention is what others already have - - - there is no on/off switch. So if you don't have them plugged in some place very convenient or simply don't like having to pull the plug out of the wall every time, that will likely be an annoyance. I wired up new ceiling outlets on our porch with on off switches on the wall, but it should be said I went out of my way to do that because of how much I like the heaters otherwise.

Heats 10” from the unit, then dissipates quickly. Totally ineffective fire any sort of directional or space heating.

I installed this ceiling mounted heater in my 1 1/2 car garage. I will not raise the temperature much at all on a cold day. The specs say it will cover 120 sf. My garage is definitely bigger than that, in fairness. When I stand in relatively close proximity you can feel the heat eminating off the unit. Like others also mentioned, there is no on / off switch or heat level control. I installed a switch activated receptacle to turn the unit on and off. In hindsight, I should have selected a larger heater. I also have a propane heater that works very well, but I used up a standard tank in two days with on and off use. Directions not good but product was as promised.

My lovely neighbor helped me put this up on the ceiling in my garage and the cord is not 8 ft. Which is what it says in the directions to the box but the worst part is there is a no timer and there's no switch to turn it off. So if you want it to come on at a certain time that's not happening and if you wanted to be on your ceiling you have to plug it into a side wall and you can only turn it on and off by unplugging it which isn't very good. Now I might not have read everything properly but if this had a switch I'd give it four and a half stars. If it had a switch and a timer I would give a 10 stars. So pretty good but there is a little room for improvement. Thanks very much
