The Easy-to-Read Little Engine that Could

This is a great book

I always read to my kids....and I always read to my Grandchildren....so when invited to a Baby Shower...I always include books...my favorite is the Little Engine that Could...I think it is a perfect book for young children...It provides a great lesson regarding try, try, try again....and the kids love to say...I think I Can, I think I Can, I Think I Can...not only when listening to the Book, but when doing things!!!!

Bought for my 3 year old son who loves trains. We have only had it one day and we've read it at least a dozen times. Cute illustration, nice story line, flows well. Similar story to the VHS movie.

My kids both really enjoy this book. My two year old loves for me to read it over and over again. I took away a star because I did not realize this was different from the original. It's just not the same!

Having not read the original version of this book, this edition works well for me! My son loves trains and enjoys this story.

This is a great book. I wanted a version of this story that was a little easier for younger children to follow than the original. This book does simply the text without altering the actual story. The illustrations are also great! Was disappointed only by the condition in which the book arrived. It was in a bubble case mailer, but was more in acceptable or fair shape. I ordered a book supposed to be in good condition, but it arrived bent completely in half and rather beat up.

I like this version much better than the original. The biggest reason is that the text matches up better with the pictures. In the original, sentences ran from one page to the next, making it hard to read aloud. In addition, the vocabulary used is simpler for young children (my daughter is currently two years old and has been enjoying this book for many months now.)

My 2yo Niece usually doesn’t have the attention span to sit through a book but this is the first book in which she has actually requested for me to read the whole thing to her multiple times now. Engaging.

2022年10月にAmazonが販売、発送の商品を623円で購入しました。 4歳の子どもがアニメ版の『little engine that could』が好きでよく見ているのですが、私（親）が英語がまったくわからないため、書籍を読めばわかるかも…と思い購入してみました。 中身の画像がなく安かったので期待していなかったのですが表紙と裏表紙込みで全36ページ、中身もカラーです。 英語は簡単でまったく喋れない私でも読みやすかったです。 アニメ版とは違うところもたくさんあります（最初の車庫のシーンや最後のほうの雪崩のシーンがなかったり、セリフも違います）載せているおもちゃたちや汽車の色やデザインなど、大まかなストーリーは似ているので、子どもも見るなり「Tillieの絵本だ！」と言って大喜びでした。この絵本では機関車たちの名称は出てきませんがアニメ版での名前を言って指差していました。「I think I can」など特徴的なセリフはアニメと同じように出てきていました。 子どもは英語を習ったり勉強したりはしていませんがフォニックスをやっていて初見でもところどころ自分でも読めるようでした。 アニメ版では「男の子が青い小さな機関車の絵本を読んでいると翌日の誕生日に本当におもちゃを載せた青い小さな機関車がやってくる」という設定なので自分がその男の子になったように感じられるかもしれません。 ページ数は思ったよりありましたが薄手の絵本ですのであまりに小さいお子さんだと破いたり破損しやすいかもしれません。 一応表紙は厚紙にPP貼りのような加工がされています。

Good product

A beautiful story with vibrant colours. This was one of my favourite books as a small child and I'm happy to give my little boy the same book.

It's over 30 pages. Great book. Every page has paragraphs and illustrations. So much fun to read. For beginner readers it's a must. This book was the best out of all the other recommended books that I bought. My daughter tries to read it as much as she can every night.
