The clinometer was yet another characteristic that stood out to me considerably. In the course of my climbing expedition, I used this product not only to analyze the slope angles but also to check the safety of the terrain. The fact that it is a useful function helped me feel more prepared, particularly when I was negotiating regions that were more rough or hilly. In addition, I discovered that the LED light was of great assistance to me while I was navigating at night. One evening, I found myself in the woods as the sun was about to set, and the LED light made it simple for me to see the compass even though there was very little surrounding light. Review: Good compass - Good compass. The mirror popped out when I removed the tape on it as it was stuck like glue and wouldn't just peel off. In the process it sliced my finger on the edge. Got the tape off the mirror and reglued it back in and works fine. Just be careful when removing the tape! Overall good buy.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do i change the declination.  no instructions.  i’m a beginner.  i need to change it to 18 w?**
A: On the front red ring is a small screw between N and E.  The red shed or dog house or the one you underlap the North needle,  points to 0.  If you look in the capsule were it hits the edge under N of the red ring.  You take the small screwdriver that comes with the compass and move the small screw till it points to the degrees you want to go to.  Right side is West and Left side is East.  Each increment is 2 degrees.

**Q: Where is the whistle?**
A: no whistle, no light, no clinometer. 
led light is on the end of the cord,
cliometer works well but no whistle came with mine

This compass is very accurate. This product has a magnetic declination setting function. You can set the direction of the compass according to the magnetic declination of the place of use.

**Q: Why the Declination pointer moves on this compass. It shud be fixed until the screw is rotated?**
A: You adjust it based on the magnetic declination in your area.  If you travel to a new location, such as from the east coast to the west coast, then you would need to adjust it.  Once you are in an area, you can leave it alone.  The product comes with a small screwdriver to adjust it.  It’s a little cheap.

Good compass. The mirror popped out when I removed the tape on it as it was stuck like glue and wouldn't just peel off. In the process it sliced my finger on the edge. Got the tape off the mirror and reglued it back in and works fine. Just be careful when removing the tape! Overall good buy.

We stopped for a break on our hike this morning, long enough to do a comparison of this compass with two similar models from a well-known supplier. To my amazement, all three were in total agreement right down to the degree readings! I did notice the two name-brand units seemed to settle more quickly - that is the ONLY difference we observed. This compass appears to be well made and designed. Compared to my $70.00 (+) name-brand, everything works well and functions properly. That's ALL you can ask of ANY compass! GOOD BUY and well pleased!
