The new one is a harder plastic than my original. There is no mention of BPA on the original either which I have had for many, many probably10 years. The model number on the bottom of the pitcher is the same, No.183. I bought the "new" ones while they were still available. I was afraid that if I wanted a new one and I waited too long I would not be able to find another perfect "Pint Plastic Pitcher with Handle" **Q: Do you have to screw the cover or you just press the cover down?** A: You have to screw the cover on. It's one quarter turn and it's a bit tricky. If children are to use the pitcher, have an adult screw the cover on first. **Q: How tall is it?** A: It is 53/4 inches tall **Q: is this microwaveable? I'd like to use with leftover gravy, etc. and be able to reheat.** A: I used this for dog treats when our puppy was potty training but as it is only top dishwasher safe I would say NO to microwaveable. The pint size is just right for lots of things that a 1-quart or 3-pint or 2-quart size is just too big for. I like to fill mine up with tea, ready to add to my cup of ice as needed at my desk.
