Contrary to Amazon's recommendation,the OEM16546AA12A is the correct OEM genuine air filter for my 2018 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium car. It fits perfectly and took 2 minutes for me to easily install. It definitely is a genuine OEM part made by Subaru of America (Fuji Heavy Industries Inc is the parent Co. that owns Subaru) and both names are printed on the box as well as made in USA. Works great, perfect fit and its durable for the price. It was packaged nicely and it had fast shipping. It fit my 2016 Subaru Outback.

$34.95 to replace this at the dealer. $27 on Amazon and took 1-2 minutes to change out. There are several excellent 2 minute YouTube videos of how to do this for those who are unsure. Super easy with no tools required.

I’ve used other air filters for my Subaru but they did not fit into the air filter housing as well as this one. In fact, one name brand aftermarket filter wouldn’t even allow the filter housing cover to close properly. I decided it was better to stay with the air filter that the vehicle came with from the factory and this is it. Don’t believe the hype from aftermarket filter manufacturers. It doesn’t matter how long their filters last and how many microns of dirt they can filter out of the air if they don’t fit properly. This is the one that will fit your Subaru properly.

Perfect OEM replacement for my 2015 Outback 3.6R. I recommend checking this component often as mine was extremely dirty after only 10,000 miles with minimal off-road driving. At first I thought the dealer was trying to scam me, but when I got home and pulled the filter out myself it was really dirty and full of dead bugs! (Unless the dealer popped in a dirty filter after I refused to pay $75 for them to replace my cabin and engine air filters.) Either way this was pretty easy to replace by myself, really easy popping the two snaps and getting out the old filter but a little more work getting the new one in and closing things back up (you have to gently jiggle/twist the housing a bit to get the right angles for it to go back together.)

Matches exactly what dealers in Canada sells. Local dealer here in GTA Ontario Canada sells these for 39.95 + HST and I got these for $33 CAD converted. That is not a bad price and changing your Engine Air Filtration Element is easy and quick. No more than 5 min. If these can be anymore cheaper (moving the import fees for some), I can guarantee you that sales of Amazon will beat dealerships.

Used this filter for my JDM 2007 Subi. It perfectly fits and it was easy to install.
