The movie looks so vibrant. The detail is nothing crazy, the movie features mostly painted backgrounds and thick line work, so you’re not going to see anything new. The 1080p version was already crystal clear. But the color just brings it to life, it really feels like this is how it was supposed to look. Specular highlights are few but well done, I love the scene where they watch stitch’s ship crash land, the green streak in the sky is blindingly bright. The island environment with the bright greens and yellows and pinks just pops off the screen. I also like the slipcover on the movie, which is important (otherwise why even bother with physical media if it doesn’t look nice on the shelf). It has a matte finish and the title is embossed. I really feel like Disney did a great job on this, much like Cinderella and Snow White. I hope this continues as 2D animation is so rare now.
