The Aircast XP (extra pneumatic) diabetic Walker brace/walking boot is a removable cast that will not limit mobility required for day-to-day activities while recovering from injury. It's specifically designed for diabetics to provide protection and pneumatic support for stable fractures of the foot and ankle, severe ankle sprains, soft tissue injuries, hind foot injuries, neuropathic ulcers, managing edema and post-operative use. The low rocker sole promotes a natural ambulation (Gait) for improved mobility while the generous foot base has ample room for dressings without sacrificing comfort. The lightweight, semi-rigid shell has a pre-inflated anterior air cell and 2 adjustable Duplex air cells located at the malleoli that can be individually inflated for a total contact fit and secure support. It provides the protection and stability necessary for a healthy recovery, and it can be used with the Aircast Brace-Lok system. This set includes 3 sock liners, 2 insoles and a hand bulb air pump with pressure gauge which allows you to customize the level of support. Universal fit allows the Aircast XP diabetic Walker brace/walking boot to be worn on either the left or right leg. Review: Five Stars - Excellent support and like the new redesign. But the straps are still chinsy and frey! If they only would make them more durable this would be a perfect 5! Review: Really nice walker, top quality - Really nice walker, top quality !!

They tried to fix a design mistake...poorly.
The Diabetic boot from Aircast used to be a unique product. Now it's just an Aircast XP with a selection of padded footbeds and a fancier pump. It suffers from the same problem that I found in the regular XP. The front plate is kept from creeping upwards by the use of a velcro pad on the right of the boot. This was obviously an afterthought fix for the problem. The velcro is the kind that just sticks on, so it peels off in relatively short order, leaving you with a boot with a front plate that creeps upward as you walk. What a piece of junk

Well Made and Designed Boot
This item took about 10 days to arrive but is well made and does what it is supposed to. The clever idea behind the design will help me heal faster, thereby saving a lot of money in medical costs compared to using conventional boots. My only reservation is that the written instructions need to be more detailed.

Way to determine boot size by shoe size or something.
There was not enough information to enable buyers to pick a correct size. Despite my best guess, the boot I bought was too small, so I wasnโt able to use it at all. Also Velcro straps are too short for anyone with larger calves.

More toe space for a Diabetic!
I love my Diabetic Walker! Loads of extra toe space makes for much better comfort and better circulation for the toes suffering from neuropathy. I did have a bit of an issue with the thinner, probably compression sock though. I think I was allergic to the fabric. I just switched back to my original thicker sock and all was well again. All in all a much better, more comfortable choice for my 4th metatarsal hairline fracture, and was Doctor approved! Thanks for a great product!
