A: Yes it will. I use it along with my daughter.

**Q: Does really hold down the hair**
A: I bought this for my sons who have curly hair. It doesn't hold the hair down but it keeps it moisturized and soft. Just a little goes a long way.

**Q: will this make my straight hair curly?**
A: It depends on the texture of your hair. Ideally its to help moisturize the hair. I use it on my daughter's naturally fine curly hair. It helps to define and keep her curls moist.

**Q: Is this ok for an 8 month old? My baby has very dry hair.**
A: Yes I started using this on my son when he was 6months old.  I wasn't ready to cut his hair and needed a way to moisturize and maintain a little style with his full head of wild hair.   Hope this helps.
