Membrane Solutions MSA3 Air Purifier for Home

I got this because my brother-in-law is Coming to visit and he’s allergic to cats and we do have two cats and two dogs so there’s a lot of fur around ( I vacuum every other day though..) so I wanted to have a good air purifier for his bedroom just to make sure that the air is clean and he doesn’t have an allergy attack or anything. I just wanna make sure that he’s more comfortable and I have had previous air, purifiers and filters and everything and to be very honest this one is great for the money. It’s actually really quiet. I also live in an area where we can do burns for leaves, logs, etc. so when my neighbors or even when we’re doing burns I’ve turned this on and my house doesn’t continuously smell like outside smoke or anything weird it really does purify the air fairly quickly, which is so helpful because previous ones other brands they haven’t done that. Right now this has been in my open concept living room, dining room kitchen so it’s a very large area and it’s definitely kept the air clean which I love. I’ve had it over by my trashcan because my husband left his Tupperware in the car for way too long and I got moldy so I had them throw it out so I put this next to my trashcan to purify the air on my trashcan and you have no idea how amazing that was. Right now this has been in my open concept living room, dining room kitchen so it’s a very large area and it’s definitely kept the air clean which I love. I’ve had it over by my trashcan because my husband left his Tupperware in the car for way too long and it got moldy so I had him throw it out so I put this next to my trashcan to purify the air around my trashcan and you have no idea how amazing that was. I’ve had it in my bedroom and now the cat litter box everything this just really is a really good air purifier for the price. I would absolutely buy another one.

I'm in a tug of war with my daughter (working + schooling from home). I'm detoxing all household cleaning products including synthetic fragrances for my health. My daughter favors all these plug-in wall fragrances so that when I walk in the house, I walk into a wall of choking artificial fragrance. I throw open windows, turn on fans, unplug those plug-ins. The next day, the same deal. This air purifier has helped tremendously. I have it in the living room (approx 30'x24') where I hang out (daughter camps out at the dining room table). When I get home, I turn this air purifier on full blast for 4 hours (or until I go upstairs to bed) and the air has been so much more pleasant and breathable. I don't notice an excessive amount of noise (but i also run a room dehumidifier or fan during the summer so it's fairly noisy in that space from air quality appliances). cooking smells don't linger quite so long. Will probably get another for my master bedroom. Worth the price especially on sale. *** update 10/30/22 *** I adopted a cat in August. This air purifier is in my bedroom. Here’s the side by side of the dirty filter I just changed and the new filter. there’s hair and so much dust. I run it several hours daily bcuz the cat sleeps in the master bedroom and the litter box is in my sitting area. Super glad I have this. It’ll be working overtime during winter when it’s too cold to open windows for fresh air ** update 11/17/2023 ** love this air purifier - I have 2 units still going strong (master bedroom and living room/entry way). The affordable “compatible with” replacement filters from Amazon work great. I autoship filters because these purifiers run continuously in a household where 3 out of 4 people claim cat allergies (hint: with no carpeting the allergic reactions never materialized - go figure)

I believe it cleans the air becuase I see what accumulates on the filters. We have several. No problems with any of them. Sometimes I vacuum out the filter instead of buying a new one, I feel the filters are overpriced.

Great for a home with pets and allergies. I have two dogs and three cats so an air purifier is definitely needed in my house. Especially for someone with allergies. I got this one to put in my open concept living room, since theres a lot of traffic in there. It seems to be made well, it's sturdy and stable. The design is simple and modern, it isn't too heavy so it's easy to move around if needed. The noise isn't loud at all. It's a light humming sound and there are multiple setting to change the speed, to lower it or highten it. It does a good job at removing dust, I've noticed less dust accumulating on furniture. It definitely helps with pet allergies and pet odors. The only thing is, I wish the filter replacements were cheaper. But overall this purifier is great for anyone with allergies and pets.

This is the third Membrane Solutions MSA3 air purifier I have purchased, not because of any problems. I just wanted another one to put in the back bedroom that the dogs sleep in. The other two do a great job and I wanted to get a jump on the hair and slight odor in the other room. The units are wells made and there are three normal speeds to chose from and a sleep mode that is very quiet with no lights on so it is hardly noticeable even when running right next to the bed. Replacement filters are fairly expensive but they remove a lot o pet hair and other debris from the air. The first filter comes in the machine sealed in a plastic bag, so don't forget to remove the from panel and take the bag of the filter and reinstall it or the purifier will never start working. Removing the front cover is easy and it snaps back in place when properly adjusted.

We really love this air cleaner for our apartment. It picks up all sorts of dust in the living room and you can see the filters are doing their job. Various settings for low to rapid clean--all appreciated and quieter than our other units in the home. When we had a problem, Ellen from Customer Service was right on the case, first giving us advice from thier technician on how to address the issue and then when it could not be fixed, the company sent a new one in the mail to us. Really above and beyond the usual CS at most companies. Thank you Ellen and Membrane Solutions!

Missy important take away from this review is to ignore the suggested filters Amazon shows and ONLY ORDER the filters from Membrane Solution! I ordered the filter Amazon showed for this air purifier, that didn't work. Tried another that said it was for MSA3 Air Purifier and again a no go. I searched Membrane Solutions and found that their filters are only ones that will work with their air purifier. Now I do like it and feel like it works. I have 5 animals and so notice difference in odor. I also notice less dust...I have two in my 1200 sq. ft. home. I have had to change the filter every 3 months... again, I have 5 animals so I feel that's responsible. It's very quiet even on high which I keep it in that mode almost 24/7. I do wish I had the app or even a remote for it, but I don't think it was worth the extra for the version that has the app. There is a timer so that works well as long as I remember to turn back on which I do forget every now and again. Overall, I would say great buy. As I said I have two which I got the second after two months of having the first. Good deal for what it is and I don't think it'll disappoint as long as you know to buy the actual Membrane Solutions filter😁
