I like to use the little plastic anchors and cut the flange off so the anchor sits flush against the tile. The anchors usually tell you the size of the hole on the packaging. don't go too fast or push too hard or you will crack your tile. Keep the bit cool with a small cup of water you can dip the bit in. Hope that helps. **Q: What size is the opening that holds the shower head? Looking for a diameter.** A: I don’t know much about this thinks **Q: When the shower head is in the holder, can its direction be adjusted up and down?** A: NO. As stated, it’s a holder only **Q: This is so dumb that you won't ship this to California?
