I hope by now you got it taken care of. I have 3 lume cubes. 2 are 2.0 and 1 is the original... The magnet mount frame goes on with a lot of force. One edge has a curve in it. That is the side that that goes to the bottom where the 1/4 screw mount is. Put the frame to the front as flat as you can and using a massive amount of force it will snap on. All 3 of mine was like this. Every time I thought I’m going to break this. But you won’t. Once you put it on there is no need to ever take it off. Leave it on even when your not using magnetic mounted filters or barn doors. I found a 750 Lumen light with multiple magnet mounts, hooks, water proof, laser pointer and it charges my iphone for about $35. Made by a company called NEBO, look it up. I use this MUCH more than the overpriced CUBE. **Q: Can you leave it plugged in and running for a few hours?** A: It depends on your brightness setting.
