The claim of "rugged" is accurate and the ability to take very sensitive measurements is fascinating. The accuracy of, for example, the temperature is seen in how temperatures change, even while going from the kitchen to the living room. The wind measurement, too, was very accurate and as other reviews pointed out, being able to have 3 measurements on one screen is a plus. Well made, highly accurate, fine scientific instrument. Even the barometer readings, while using the change in elevation from our local airport, where official readings are, to my location (significant changes in elevation) are precise. I spent time in an online Q and A with Kestrel before the purchase; they provide great customer service. Temps and humidity are accurate enough. Pressure sensor is spot on. One thing to be aware of is that when you're using the unit in violent storms, water will seep in the humidity sensor and display 100%RH until it completely dries out.
