What is a good ratio of Urnex to water?** A: We have the same size here at work and I probably use too much cleaner but it really works well. They say to use .25 oz. but I double the amount. I found that it works best if the water is HOT. I run the 12 cups of water through the machine and let it sit until its hot. Then I add the cleaner and let it sit for a few minutes then use that same hot water and pour it back in and let it work for the same amount of time. I prefer to do this twice then I clean the inside using a cloth or sponge. I then run clean water through it twice using clean water both times. This may sound like an overkill but I've been using this procedure for 10 to 15 years. It works for me. Good luck. **Q: I have a Mr Coffee stainless pot. Does this work on stainless interiors?** A: I've used it on a stainless pot but I could not see very well inside it to see how clean it was. I soaked it with some hot water. It took the brownish yellow stain off the bottom of the inside without a lot of scrubbing. The outside looked good and the plastic parts looked good. It was a Bunn stainless steel. **Q: How well will this clean a 100 cup percolator and how much cleaner is needed to clean one?** A: I was first introduced to this product years ago from the guy who delivered the coffee services for our company. I requested he change out our once clear pots that had turned crusty and brown with burnt coffee. Just a few squirts and some hot water made the pots new again. I put about a tablespoon or so in my 12 cup coffee pots (I have one with a glass carafe and another with a thermal carafe - works like a charm on both) with hot water and let it sit overnight. I use the same amount (TBSP+ with 12 cups water) to run through the machine about once every 6 months, but follow it up with an additional 'water only' brew or two. **Q: our company just bought a new Bunn brewer but the pot that came with it is a high density plastic, not glass, will it still work?** A: I just tried this last night on the filter holder (it's black plastic) on my Technivoorm. Soaked it for 30 minutes in a solution that was probably too strong. It cleaned it up nice and did not harm the plastic or the rubber gasket on the bottom. I rinsed the heck out of it, and I did soak it over night afterwards in a sink full of soapy water. There were no odors of chemicals and it seemed to clean the plastic just fine.There may be an issue with the chemical etching the clear plastic, so your coffee pot may not be as clear afterwards.
