Dear Sarah, The "N" & "M" refer to width, N for Narrow, M for Medium. Birkenstock also uses "R" for Regular which is also Medium. The "EURO-METRC" sizing codes can be confusing, many times they will overlap them with US sizing, which can be even more confusing! I hope this helps. Birkenstock usually come in two widths. Regular and narrow. Some retailers will say M, medium instead of regular but they are the same thing.

it says 11 us but also 41

The US size is 11, the international size is 41, but essentially they are the same size shoe. As a matter of fact, my Birkenstocks are a size 11 when I wear them in the United States but they become a size 41 when I travel to Europe... Get it?
