It rings for 1 minute before it shuts off automatically, and the indicator light will flash simultaneously. It starts out with a slower beep and gradually speeds the beeping sound so it sounds urgent. Press any key to stop the alarm. Then it will show the last time setting. There's a switch on the side for sound or flash. So you can choose sound alarm with the indicator light, or only the indicator light flashes.

Yes, it makes a fairly loud beep at every button push. The alarm is fairly loud also, so it can be heard throughout most of the house.

Can you manually enter an amount of time then count up from there? for example, start at 15minutes and count up (not down).

No, you can only count up from 0.
