Excellent Practice Pad—Quiet, Realistic, and Well Made
I bought the Evans RealFeel drum practice pad, and it’s been fantastic for practicing without making a ton of noise. The 12-inch size is perfect, and the dual-sided design is really useful—one side has a more realistic rebound, while the other offers a slightly firmer feel for endurance and control work. The gum rubber and neoprene surfaces feel great to play on, and the rebound is very natural. It helps build technique without stressing your hands or wrists. I also appreciate how sturdy it is—it stays put while playing and feels durable enough to last a long time. It’s perfect for home practice, warming up before rehearsals, or even throwing in a bag to take on the go. Quiet enough for apartment use, but still gives that satisfying response drummers want. If you’re a drummer looking for a reliable, high-quality practice pad, this one is a total win. I’m really happy with it!

Great
Great quality, good value, and pretty much as advertised. Evans is one of the best drum head brands out there. If youre wondering about noise, the sound is much softer and less echoey. Great for practicing, also super bouncy with great stick rebound. Pay attention the the size measurements when buying.

Excellent practice pad for any drummer.
Less than ten minutes out of the box this pad had become one of the best drum related purchases I have ever made. Over the years I have had or tried several different types of practice pads. I was recently looking for a new practice pad and ran across this one here on Amazon. I was intrigued by the "two sides-two feels" claim, and after reading some of the reviews decided to give it a try. It arrived quickly and was well packaged. I immediately pulled out my Tama Roadpro snare stand and gave it a try. I was in love from the very first paradiddle. This pad is very well made, looks great and seems as though it will hold up well over time. It is sturdy and weighs just enough to be stable sitting on the table instead of my stand. The two sides: The grey or gum rubber side has a slightly textured surface, is very quite and offers excellent rebound. The black side has a firmer feel to it. It is definitely louder than the grey side and offers less in the way of rebound. I like this side when practicing rudiments as the lack of rebound really makes you work at it. I would recommend this practice pad to any drummer. I would highly recommend this pad to anyone looking for a quiet way to practice and beginning drummers.

Easily 5 Stars
I am loving the Evans 2-sided Practice Pad. I needed a good pad because I like to practice my drumming technique early in the morning and that doesn’t exactly work out for others in the house. I’ve had it almost a week now and I use this thing daily. It’s a beautiful pad all the way around: nice sanded wood with rounded edges, good thickness and weight, beautiful quality gum and recycled rubber on either side. When I opened it my first impression was that it was a little on the heavy side but that turned out to be a blessing because it will stay put, using either side, on any surface. The thickness also allows you to put in on any surface you want (carpet, padded seat, lap) and you still get the same rebound on your drum sticks as you expect without the pad being effected by sinking or giving. I usually set it on my foam piano bench. It truly is a real feel, as Evans calls it. The Gum Rubber response to the drum sticks is right in between what you would expect from your toms and snare; the Recycled Rubber side has a snappier response. Both sides of the practice pad are fun to beat on and even though the Recycled Rubber side is much harder it doesn’t create as much sound as you would think from looking at it, so you can use either side and never disturb anyone. I’ve beat on this thing a lot in the past week – sometimes abused it in frustration at myself – and, as for now at least, it refuses to show any stick marks on either side. Pros: Cons: Gorgeous/stylish Nothing that I can find, really. Heavy/stout Quite High Quality Loads of fun!!

A good practice drum pad
I am interested in learning drums but I don't have space for a full kit nor did I want the noise from a real drum while I am in the beginning stages of learning. The pad is good for learning beginning rudiments and stick control and is much cheaper than a real drum. This pad is reported to give you a real drum head feel and the bundle also included a pair of sticks. I like the feel and the 12" size gives you enough space without being cramped. There is noise from the hits of the sticks but it is not super loud. Others in the room might still find it annoying if you are reading or doing other quiet things. May even bother some if they are watching TV but it could be a lot worse. I generally play it on my knees while I watch TV. My cats are critics and want to play with the sticks while I practice! I guess you can't please everybody..

Does not come with sticks.
I havent played drums since I was a kid, almost 20 years ago. Been wanting to get back into it, but now with a family, a drumset just isnt going to work. Eventually I want an electric kit, but I also wanted to start tapping with some real sticks again (this does not come with sticks, fyi). I have never practiced on a pad, so I don't have much knowledge but these are good quality. I saw some others that came with a stand and sticks for a similar price, so I'd guess these are a little expensive (hence the 4*), but they still serve their purpose for my to grease the groove with rudiments.

Best practice pad
As a percussionist that played for Arcadia High School, I would say this is the best practice pad out there. I have had many other pads, including a xymox custom pad, invader v3, vic firth double sided, and vic firth slim pad. I first encountered this pad when I was borrowing a friend's pad and its great. The quiet side is actually very quiet and the hard side is really great for recording videos/building chops. In comparison to the other pads, The invader v3 is also a really good pad but its just extremely loud and big (hard to transport or play in a bus). Vic firth also has the double sided pad, but their soft side's rebound is unrealistic and the hard side basically does not have any rebound at all. The vic firth slim pad actually feels really good out of the box but the rubber actually wears out really quick and then it no longer feels good. And Xymox LOL. If you know you know. Poor shipping times, overpriced and cheap quality. Unfortunately, the pad I received must have been a dud because the hard side didn't seem glued down properly. Theres this small zone on the hard side that was inconsistent in sound/rebound due to the gluing issue. I know this is a great practice pad and mine was probably just one with a minor defect. ALSO: get the 12". The 6" is great but if you're playing on a flat surface, the 6" pad likes to move around due to its small size. Hope this is helpful and happy drumming!

Drum practice pad
My musical grandson plays drums and this lets him practice in the house without the volume of his large drum set. It gets the beat going while providing him with a good practice session.

Brilliant!
The gum rubber side (grey) has a very nice feel, it gives a lot of rebound similar to that of a kit snare drum where as the black harder side has a marching snare-like feel to it. It is excellent for performing all 40 of the standard rudiments and is quite enough to be used in places such as a bedroom it creates little noise even with hard strokes. It can also be used on any surface as the reverse side acts as a grip to stop it moving, while the actual pad absorbs all hits so the surface being played on wont take any damage. Overall an excellent product I would recommend it to any drummer as an essential pad above any on the market currently.

Excellent achat !!!
