Over the years I have had or tried several different types of practice pads. I was recently looking for a new practice pad and ran across this one here on Amazon. I was intrigued by the "two sides-two feels" claim, and after reading some of the reviews decided to give it a try. It arrived quickly and was well packaged. I immediately pulled out my Tama Roadpro snare stand and gave it a try. I was in love from the very first paradiddle. This pad is very well made, looks great and seems as though it will hold up well over time. It is sturdy and weighs just enough to be stable sitting on the table instead of my stand. The two sides: The grey or gum rubber side has a slightly textured surface, is very quite and offers excellent rebound. The black side has a firmer feel to it. It is definitely louder than the grey side and offers less in the way of rebound. I like this side when practicing rudiments as the lack of rebound really makes you work at it. I would recommend this practice pad to any drummer.
