Each year I look for a couple of Christmas puzzles that we as a family can work on together. I'm a puzzle enthusiast, but for the family I need a festive puzzle that is accessible to family members of a varied age-range/skill.I chose this puzzle for many reasons: it does not have too much sky or snow--whenever I buy Christmas puzzles with a lot of snow/sky, I find that either my children or my mother complain about the difficulty of putting the puzzle together, and ultimately my husband and I work on the snow/sky while other members of the family work on the "fun" bits (Christmas trees; stockings; skaters, etc.); this puzzle has lots of details that anchor you to where--within the world of the puzzle--you are(crackerjacks along the floor help with assembling the floor, the patterned rug as opposed to a wooden floor or a single color carpet allow you to work the floor without thinking about subtle color variations), the picture frames along the wall help show you what section of the wall you're on, and the wallpaper's pattern is simple (not some whimsical pattern) so you need not rotate one piece multiple times to figure out if it might fit with another piece; the scene is festive and has a bit of that nostalgic feel that makes for a nice feeling while you're working the puzzle (my nearly three-year-old who does not work on the puzzle loves seeing Santa Claus, and my older daughter loves all of the animals). Frankly, the hardest part of the puzzle has been the Christmas tree, but even there you have some help with the colors of the beaded garlands. The easiest part to assemble was the window and the items surrounding it.Also, I wanted a 1,000 piece puzzle (500 piece puzzles move much faster and are a bit less challenging, and 1,500 piece puzzles are generally more challenging and time consuming).Added bonuses: this is one of the first puzzles on which I have worked where I am not repeatedly asked/asking if one piece does indeed fit with another. It's evident when a piece does fit and when it does not. When you consider this is a 1,000 piece puzzle, the pieces are actually rather large and far from flimsy--the puzzle was cut well. The picture is pasted on well, so you're not dealing with little bits of paper rolling up, and I absolutely love that I do not have bits of sawdust all over my table and that the pieces are free of that grimy sensation that sometimes accompanies the sawdust residue.I think the puzzle offers just enough of a challenge to make it worth doing, but is not so cumbersome that you can't relax and enjoy the company of your family as you're working on this. I will certainly look at more of the puzzles designed and cut by White Mountain, and I would definitely buy this item for anyone I know who has the patience to work on a 1,000 piece puzzle (there are also many lovely 500 piece puzzles out there).

The picture isn't as bright as the display... its a little darker but that made it better. We love the larger pieces of this puzzle and that every piece is unique! It is a tradition in our house to have a puzzle going between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

This puzzle challenged me a bit which is good. This puzzle is well made and the pieces fit together very well. The pieces on this puzzle are not very glossy as other white mountain puzzles. This one is a bit more of a flat finish. I like both types of finishes and the quality of the puzzle is the same in both. White mountain puzzles are the best out there.

Vibrant colors and quality materials. It’s our favorite puzzle so we sent to our daughter and family.

Love, love this Christmas White Mountain (WM) brand puzzle! WM puzzles always have sturdy pieces in fun different shapes and the colors are very vibrant. I always take one star off though because WM puzzles have a fair amount of puzzle dust and I am very sensitive to that. I wish they could fix that aspect, but otherwise, WM makes the best puzzles on the market.

Such a beautiful puzzle. We worked on it as a family over Thanksgiving break, took us about 4 days of occasional puzzling sessions.

I love that a large paper copy of the puzzle was included. Very happy scene which included animals along with Santa and presents around the tree.

My mother-in-law loves to puzzle during the winter months and when she saw this puzzle she was very pleased with it because it is so colorful and full of different images which makes it fun to do instead of tedious. I myself enjoy puzzling as well and was quite envious of it since it was such a lovely and colorful image. I'm certain she got hours of enjoyment while working at completing the puzzle,
