Review: Skating Around the Complex Plane - This is a great read: the first part covers the geometry/topology of the complex space from a Mathematician's perspective, which is not covered with much detail in typical Mathematical Methods texts; and the second part covers application of complex analysis to differential equations and integral transformations, etc. from a Physicist's perspective. If you have some exposure to complex analysis, one can read Part 2 to understand applications, then go through Part 1 to understand the more abstract fundamental principles. The additional problems in Schaum's Outline on "Complex Variables" is a good compliment to this book; the sequence of topics parallel each other.

This is a great read: the first part covers the geometry/topology of the complex space from a Mathematician's perspective, which is not covered with much detail in typical Mathematical Methods texts; and the second part covers application of complex analysis to differential equations and integral transformations, etc. from a Physicist's perspective.
