They are thick and block out plenty of light when used with blinds behind them. I love that you can tie the white lace material for a different effect or leave them down if desired. Beautiful curtains and perfect for my Granddaughter's room. The blackout is very effective, perfect for the mornings. The little cut out stars look so pretty when it's dark in the room but light outside. They really enhance her room, I'm so happy with them.
