This speaker is amazing! I bought it about 8 months ago, and still has the same awesome sound quality and battery life that it did when I purchased it. The shape seemed a bit weird at first, but now I love it. Now I can jam out while cooking dinner, while riding my bike, while kayaking down the river, or hiking or anything!The bungee cord on the back is incredibly stretchy and durable. The charging time is pretty reasonable, and the speaker is made made out of some pretty tough materials. I have dropped a couple of times and it had zero problems with it. The Bluetooth strength is pretty good, and can go up to about 150 feet with newer phones that have Bluetooth 5, Or 30-50 feet with normal phones. This speaker works well with Apple or Android devices. If you have a smartphone, I highly recommend recommend getting the UE Roll app, it is very easy to use and it has a lot of super useful features. One of my favorite uses of the UE app is that if you lose your speaker, you can turn it on from your phone, crank up some music, and boom, there it is! Full rich sound in a surprisingly light package. The shock cord clip allows this to attach to a belt, backpack, door handle, or just about anywhere you are. Quick to charge and easy to use. I use it while walking, fishing, or working around the house. I've gotten it wet twice with no issues. Once on the outside of a daypack during a heavy rain and the other fully submerged when I knocked a pack into the stream.I spent eight hours yesterday cleaning out the basement storage room. I hung this on the wall and started the music. Great sound all day long helped a dreary task go more quickly. You can pair multiple phones with it and switch off songs or playlists.Another feature I like is that if you press the up volume and down volume at the same time a pleasant voice will tell you your remaining battery power (e.g. "sixty percent charge"). There is no guessing if it is charged or how much charge is left. Yes the app also has a visual display on your phone but I don't always use with my phone. There is a mini-RCA (3.5 mm) jack which lets me plug in a portable turntable or an old iPod.I looked at reviews and the UE Roll 2 was in the top three for each of the lists I saw. I went to a couple of stores and got a feel for what I liked and for sound. This won hands down for the combination of sound, portability, and the ease of attachment. I highly recommend.

It's a shame that they don't make this model anymore! I love being able to mount it virtually anywhere. I'm a James Taylor, Jimmy Buffett, Jason Mraz kinda dude...Counting Crows...that kinda thing and this SHINES!!! The volume is shocking!!! Too loud for most situations at max...so a nice 60% seems to work for me....I bought two and having one strapped to the microwave handle and one on the closet door handle across the room makes a beautiful sound. i live in southern Florida and have a pool. I leave one on my lanai table for drinking and chatting and one in my pool, floating on the surface in the included float...Makes for a great pool party...Then, if we go inside for 15 minutes for a snack, I just grab one...bring the music inside while the pool guests still have their tunes...The tone isn't a thump...though I like the bass...it's more "rich". Punchy, solid vocals with a focus on acoustic and reggae tunes....My wife likes to tweak her EQ in the app to pull out some offending upper mids...But I'm happy with the "standard" eq preset....What I love most is the small size to power ratio...I find myself always taking it with me...from washing dishes, to the shower...even popping on my passenger seat in my old 99 rodeo, cause this sounds better than the factory stereo...I think the ease of throwing it in a bag, or strapping it to a bag strap make me just wanna always have this around. The low latency and long range of this sucker makes it great for movies on the go also. I'm very glad to have scooped on of these up before they are gone for good. I assume the wonderboom is great, but the for factor and the big bungee on this roll 2 makes it tops in my book.

This is by far one of the best purchases I've ever made. First off, the fact that this speaker is waterproof is a game changer. I love to listen to music while I'm in the shower and before buying this I could never really do that since I had to leave my speaker outside the shower and the noise from the shower head canceled out most of the music. The bungee cord makes it super easy to hang it on a hook in the shower and then your music is right there at ear level. The sound quality is great. You can download the UE app and within that you can tinker around with the EQ, it's set at the normal balance right out of the box, but you can select the premade "standard" or "bass jump" modes, or make your own using the EQ modifier. I keep mine on standard since I listen to a variety of music, but everything from bassy EDM to classic rock sounds amazing. The other nice thing about the speaker is that they include a floaty for you to strap the speaker to. I've already made all of my friends jealous by bringing it to pool parties and my lake house, it's great to listen to while you're swimming. Be warned it DOES NOT FLOAT so do not take it off in deep water or else it will sink. Also, I can leave it playing on the first floor of my house and walk up to my room on the second floor and not lose connection, the wireless range is phenomenal​. Overall this is the best speaker I've ever owned. If you're considering buying this or another one of the UE speakers, I highly encourage you to, you definitely won't regret it.

We had never heard of Ultimate Ears Roll until a friend introduced me to them about six months ago. I was really impressed by the sound quality, portability, construction and overall function of the UE Roll.I shopped around for some and found apparently they are being discontinued. However I found a good one at Amazon.com. Ordered it. When it arrived we plugged it in right away, charged it up, linked in and played our favorite music.Our judgment?Very good, it’s very sturdy product, very compact and easy to carry. Easy to hook up.And the sound was satisfactory for the price.In addition we also ordered a second UE Roll from eBay at a major discount and to our surprise, once we plugged in we were also similarly impressed.It’s function as well in all levels in categories and the benefit bonus for us was that we were able to "double up" in UE roll lingo.What that means as were able to control both UE Rolls through our iPhone so that in a fact we have stereo sound (nice) and much stronger volume.Overall a good product and we’re very satisfied.

Recommended!!! I like this speaker because of way it fills a space and the loudness it has for its size. Perfect for small outdoor party. If you get 2 then surround sound is even better. I do recommend buying refurbished as you can get 2 for the price of 1.Floating this in the pool is silly unless you are the only one using the pool and you are not splashing much. Depending on how much you wet the device it will decrease the quality of sound significantly. You’ll need to dry this out to get optimum sound quality again. When dunked in water it sounds garbled until the water has vibrated out of it but don't worry as long as the rubber protector for the ports is fully inserted no harm done.If you are looking for bass then you'll have to pay the price difference and get one of the larger cylinder shaped models... Logitech UE is great for surround sound! Using the App you can pair a couple of these to get the full benefit.I have used this speaker for going on 3 years and it still provides long battery life and good quality sound compared to other speakers of its size. It is great for beach or camping trips. Literally indestructible unless you are trying to damage it using extreme methods. There are plenty of videos of different things that have been done without damaging the UE.

We need nice quality sound everywhere we go - especially on long vacations. We recently took two of these devices on a 12 day Hawaiian vacation and they performed brilliantly. I highly recommend getting two; you can either have them in separate rooms in mono such that you have the music playing in the bathroom and then in the main section of the hotel room (like we did), or you can position them like satellite speakers and turn on stereo mode when your sitting or lying in bed. The low frequency response is minimal, and with the size and weight of the device I wasn't expect more, but you're traveling with it, hanging it from review mirror in your rental car, and it's light and compact. The midrange is perfect and the high frequencies are crisp and clear without being abrasive. We took it into the pool with us as we swam and played and it rests perfectly on it's flotation device that comes with it (like a mini inter tube). My wife accidentally knocked it off and it sank to the bottom of the pool. No problem - still works perfectly!!

I've had this for several weeks now and it's great. I used it while walking around town, on a picnic, and in the apartment. Sounds great, looks great, easy to use. I have not tested it with water although I don't plan on going too crazy with it. They tell you it's water resistant to a certain amount but I only plan on getting this as wet as it would if I were caught in the rain or touching it with wet hands pool-side. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a reasonably priced and well rounded bluetooth speaker.Sound is not home stereo loud but it's more than loud enough for what it is intended for. I wouldn't say this has the best 360 degree projection, but I don't know if many speakers do. It sounds best when it's facing you. Although I had it lying flat on a picnic blanket and everyone around it and it sounded great. If you're looking to throw impromptu parties in a large space, then you may want something else. I think this is good for people gathered around an area.

I have been using UE Roll 2 for over a month now. It has been a very satisfying experience.I am more of an IEM user. This is my first and only BT speaker, so keep that in mind when you read the review.Before buying, I was very skeptical about the sound quality of such a small speaker. I initially bought one Roll 2 and tried it. The sound showed some good potential. The loudness was good, the vocals sounded clear, even in tracks where they are buried in the recording. It lacked bass and also had a slight hollowness in the sound. Thankfully, UE Roll app has an EQ, which when adjusted a little, pushed the sound towards my desired frequency response. What made me elated was the dynamics. Dynamic range was pretty good, meaning the loudest and the softest parts of music are well differentiated. The clarity is also very good. Since I was satisfied, I immediately ordered another Roll 2 to pair with it.For about a month now, the pair of Roll 2 speakers has been working as L-R speakers in my room. It is loud enough to fill the room at about 50-60% volume. It is paired with my iPhone, Moto G4+ and my Laptop. I have recently paired them with my Echo Dot. Nothing speaks lazy than commanding Alexa to "play some xyz" and then relax. This has been a great setup for casual, background listening. It is not going to match the experience of a proper speaker system or even a good IEM/Headphone, but that is not the point of buying a 4,000 bluetooth speaker.My usage is limited in scope, so I cannot tell you whether it is water-proof or fills a hall as a party speaker (though others have tested it). What I can tell you is1) The build quality is good. They are small and light enough to carry anywhere, feel sturdy enough to hook up anywhere without fearing if it would collapse on a fall.2) The Roll 2 is loud enough for a room, even at half the volume. If you place it in a large hall or an open space, you might need to crank up the volume a bit more.3) The Bluetooth range is pretty good. I can carry and place it almost anywhere inside my home (on the same floor). "Almost", because it struggles to keep the connection across two rooms on opposite sides of the house (Wi-Fi signal also goes down in this room). But, it does work at 60-65 feet easily.4) If you are looking for something with good bass quantity, you should skip this.5) I have not exactly measured the battery life, but it seems to be close to 10 hours or so (at 50% volume). It takes about 3 hours for charging using my Anker charger.6) If it sounds alright to you out of the box, leave it as-is. This UE Default is very fine for anything that emphasizes vocals. If you listen to different genres, I'd recommend using EQ in the UE Roll app. My settings are 250: +4, 450: +2, 1.5K: +2, 5.2K: 0, 9K: +1. It may or may not be to your liking since this is my preference (at my listening volume). You can set all frequency bands to flat and then start tuning based on how you like what you hear. You can always go back to "The Standard" just in case.7) One speaker is quite OK. But, I liked this better in a two speaker stereo mode. It would not work quite like big speakers and present great sound stage or anything, but the stereo mode is better than using a single one. If your budget permits it, go for it. While I paired them as L-R speakers using the Double-up feature, there was a brief period where I could not get them to pair again (both speakers would output the same thing, without going into stereo mode). I don't know why, but after a week like that, they once again paired correctly and it has been a smooth ride since.8) It will play nicely for casual listening. But, I should qualify that statement. I don't listen to Bollywood music (or Tamil film music), Pop, Rap, Dubstep etc., My preferred genres usually have metal or rock in their name, but I do listen to a bit of Jazz, Classical and sometimes, other genres. I don't mind using these speakers for Miles Davis, Alice In Chains, A Perfect Circle, acoustic-heavy Opeth (Damnation) or Massive Attack (as long as you don't mind the low bass quantity). But, I would not dare use it with something like a Dodecahedron or anything busy or complex. But then, that would be asking too much from these little speakers :-)

I've had this speaker for two and a half years (purchased for around 5k) and it's still absolutely fantastic. The sound quality and the battery life are still stunning. The speaker occasionally glitches when connecting, but that's the only issue. Super sturdy, been using it in the shower almost every day and no water / steam damage. I've checked out other budget speakers including JBL Go and nothing matches the quality of this one.

I am in love with this product. This has a amazing sound clarity. It gives superb sound effects when you hook it up to a laptop to watch movies. I must say thanks to all previous reviews which helped me in just opting for the right product for me.Few Pros -1. Volume is loud enough, so that said half a volume can fill in an Indian Bed Room (11 by 17 Ft)2. Turn on and off from the UE Roll App on iPhone, so no need to turn it manually.3. Volume equalizer in the app itself.Cons-1. Does not connect with my CSR external bluetooth dongle for some reasons. But that does not impact me as my laptop also has aux cables.2. No Built in MicrophoneOverall great product and for buyers go for it with close eyes, it is better than JBL.

Love this version of UE portable speaker. Owned it for the past 2 months now. Battery life is amazing. Nice and flat and not the usual, awkward, bulky speaker. Great sound. Could use a little more bass but I realize it's not really meant for that. I do strongly recommend this portable speaker if you want something small, something you can easily hook up and walk around with (I strap it to my belt all the time), and something that you can enjoy just for the fun of it. Work every penny. Plus, UE has never disappointed me with the quality of their products. 5/5 stars.
