The car is used for autocross. My first couple of events with the new engine, I glanced at the tachometer needle hitting 5000 rpm and was concerned because redline is listed at 5600 rpm for this engine. I installed this unit for peace of mind (and so I could concentrate on driving instead of the gauges.) To test it, I set the limit at 3000 rpm and took the car for a drive. It felt very smooth when it hit the limit. It just felt like the car wouldn't go any faster. The only con would be the hookup kit that came with the unit. The wires are too small.
