Great chess mold- take your time!
This chess mold was fun to work with. I originally put too much into the black squares and had some spill over - the dividers are REALLY SMALL but I have shaky hands and was able to pull it off. This video is the first time demolding. I had no issues with my resin coming out. The bad marbling on the edges is my fault, not the molds! I tried to add flair. I have shamed myself.

Worked like a Charm
I don't usually leave review, but there seemed to be a lot of negative reviews about this product. I used a silicone release spray and while the pieces were a bit of work to take out of the molds, everything came out perfectly. The molds are in perfect condition. I would recommend to future users to use the a release spray, and when taking the pieces out of the molds, pull backwards (flipping it inside out) and limit how much you pull away sideways. I think this is where the majority of the product damage came from. Also, make sure that your resin is fully cured, not just set, as it can be sticky until then and possibly damage the molds.

It's big!
I have not used it yet. Just got it and the picture on Amazon did not do it justice! I love it! My problem is that as you see the picture that's how I received it. Clear bag that can easily rip, (luckily it didn't) with a sticker for my address. It's the clear bag that allows sunlight in... but most IMPORTANT is that the bag is FRAGILE... THEY COULD HAVE, SHOULD HAVE USED A BROWN BAG THATS STRONGER!!!!! nobody needs to know what we are buying but if that bag had ripped and pieces lost I would have returned it. That's just bad business there.....

Great!
So the silicone is thick which is nice for the board and the board comes out thick. so when you do the squares first if you go over it's little lid you'll end up going into the next Square so you have to be a little bit careful about how much epoxy you put on the squares first and then wait for it to dry and then put another layer on top of it which ends up becoming the bottom side. I'm not sure the exact epoxy amount but it was more than what I expected. The pieces are a little bit harder to get the epoxy in I wouldn't just pour it in unless you are using a pressure chamber to get all the bubbles out otherwise I use a baby dropper to slowly drip the epoxy into the chess pieces so it doesn't come out holey.

Wanted to love it
I really wanted to love this board. I chose this because it was one of the only 12" boards that I could find. The pouring face of the board already had imperfections upon arrival, like little creases in parts and other oarts that looked like something had been rubbed against the mold. Cleaning the mold did not get them to go away. I attempted to take pictures but it's a hard thing to photograph. The mold is also pretty thin, like many cheap molds from China (and there doesn't seem to be any higher quality molds on the market), and unfortunately I was only able to make 1 board because it ripped upon demolding (my husband "helped" with the torch and well many of us know how that goes - it was not the mold's fault). So I'm back to looking for a board mold, I won't be trying this one again because I have no way to fix the surface imperfections and it will drive me nuts. I don't know how good the chess pieces are because I used a different mold set I purchased separately.

Love this set
Patience and uniqueness is what's needed if you are going to make a resin chess set. I've only made two sets so far turned out awesome. Just make sure you get all the air pockets/bubbles out of the pieces while filling them up by squishing them.

High quality molds
My grandson loves chess, so I decided to make this set for his birthday using his school colors. Nice thick molds and had no issues with demolding, even without using any release product. I found that the best way to eliminate air bubbles in the chess pieces was to fill them slightly more than half way, then squeeze them all around before filling completely, or in my case, filling to the bottom bands and allowing for partial curing before adding the bottom color. Very happy with how it turned out and he was amazed that I actually made it.

Chess board mold had scratch indentations
The chess piece molds were great but unfortunatetly the chess board mold was covered in scratches that were transparent to me until I poured the first board and took it out of the mold. The lines are visible when you closely inspect it but not noticeable from a distance, at least.

My mold stuck to my chess board.
Not a silicone mould. Poor quality.

Terrible product.
most of the molds are off round, makes it a useless set of pieces.
