Good for me. **Q: Does it work? How long will it take effect?** A: Yes, it works. I don’t understand “how long will it take effect”. It starts working as soon as you put it on. How long it lasts depends on you. What else do you use in beard, the environment in which you work, how often you wash beard, etc. you use it when you feel you need it. **Q: what is the difference between the Scrotch Porter conditioner vs Beard Balm?** A: The products work together. I use the balm daily in the shower, put it on first and let it stay in for several minutes. once you wash it out, and dry off I then apply the balm to my beard to finish it off. the balm adds oils and moisture back into your beard and helps it's from itching and your face from drying out and flaking, while the conditioner works for cowashing. the conditioner isn't as harsh as a beard wash where they strip all of the oils out. I cowash daily, and use the balm, and then use a wash ever 10-14 days right now. hope that helps. **Q: Should I avoid touching the skin when applying this? How so?** A: No need to avoid that. It won't hurt your skin. Normally I would wait for 3mins till it dried and absorbed. I would agree with these reviews in that it does a great job conditioning my beard. I am not convinced however that it is worth a premium price. I have used other beer conditioners that are 25% less in cost that do a great job. I think this would be my conditioner of choice if the price point were lower. And if I’m being honest, I’m not a huge fan of the container. I prefer a squeeze bottle or a pump. Lower the price five dollars and I will put up with the tub container and this would probably be my conditioner of choice.UPDATE: wow! I never realized what a good quality conditioner could do for my beard but now I do. This stuff is fantastic! I’ve used several different conditioners and none have given me the great results I get from Scotch Porter. In other words, it's quite rough and bristly (on a good day). I've only been using the Scotch Porter beard conditioner for about a week, but the change in my beard is so significant that I couldn't wait to share my opinion of it. My beard is now soft and manageable after only a few uses and it has a very pleasant scent to it. The difference is so noticeable that even my wife says it "looks really good" and has even run her hands through it.
