The flexibility that allows it to open and close is because it tapers and pinches to a point where the hinge (a flap of plastic, really) is basically PAPER THIN. You best bet it'll break off. Guess it still do what a sharpener says it be do, man. Lid still sucks, though.

No daña las puntas y quedan muy afilados los lápices, es muy satisfactorio. Lo uso muy a menudo y no parece sufrir daños de uso. De lo mejor que hay.
