Our sensor is mechanically held in place with metal brackets fixed to the windscreen. The clear pad and this gel can’t be the only means of holding the whole sensor in place. Yes it is sticky to a degree but I’d be surprised as said if it is supposed to support the whole module on its own- plus it’s gel, not adhesive….. Anyway, what had happened with ours is that the metal brackets themselves had come off, likely from a failed windscreen replacement repair. I used heavy duty 3m tape for that part, then used this gel to sort the pad.
