Installation is fairly straightforward. I have 1 question though, how do I know if the bulb / unit is actually working. I have seen others that light up to say the unit is working. I now see during the darker hours the unit is well lit up to show bulb is working. ### ⭐ Leaky ballast *by H***Y on 4 March 2024* I had the old version of this filter that leaked after 3 or 4 years and was so out of warranty. Given that I had a spare tube for this, I purchased the upgraded version. The ballast on this leaked as well after less than a year and some rain which tripped the electrics in the house. As you will see from the photo, its seal is no good. As per the Amazon returns policy, I have contacted the manufacturer who doesn’t want to know (in fact citing Amazon’s return policy as a reason for them not wanting to know!). I only need them to send out a new ballast and I can fix it! It’s a good filter, but not really built for being outside in the UK weather.
